The end is near.

What I should do is stick the back seat from a PTurbo into a GT3!

It has been done. It's far cheaper than modding a Turbo or C2S to drive like a GT3.

Awesome cars for my friends to buy! Get on it swbatte, whats taking you? Cant find an automatic?

Dave you are confusing me with the guys you met at Stu's bath house. Those are your F-car friends who ride automatics.

What about an RS4? It's so similar to an R8 other than where the engine is located, it's not funny. Seriously, put it on your list to consider. Then get your Turbo anyway.

Some quick night shots (yep, they stink). Removed the rafters, installed collar ties and vaulted the ceiling, "follow the roofline" garage door tracks and a jackshaft opener. The T100's rack clears by 1/2 inch........

Taking out the bottom chord and webs off of your rafters may work in a climate where you don't get any snow(even so this is not advisable in any climate) but to do it Toronto where you get wet and heavy snow is asking for a disaster to happen. Picture this, snow load on your roof, roof starts coming down and exterior walls start pushing outwards.(CRUSH) As much as it would be sad to see you having to sell your NSX, at least it would still enjoyed by someone, some where and not flattened on top of a car rack:eek:

Practical solution is to replace the NSX with something with a back seat that I can drive all year around.

Im going to think about it until spring time.

I know it's not a euro but if I needed a back seat in bad weather country and the car still had to be fast i'd get a GTR and call it a day?

Pfff, you guys living in those big cities with no lot whatsoever. Here is my new addition to my house, i just need to get an NSX in there. This is what you need, not an other car...

That is a good suggestion... the RS4 is a great DD

I've been seeing more and more nice toys go for sale in the last few weeks, from NSXs to F/P cars....

I'd say unless you 100% have to sell, don't. It'll be hard to get exactly what you want again.

No No, you must not have read my previous post (post #14). I didn't just remove the rafters, I consulted with an engineer (Gil - coolNSX) and added collar ties to reinforce the roofline, as it would collapse if I didn't. Look above my cars roof and you can see some of them with bolts. I doubled the sizes and quantity of the bolts that were recommended.

UPDATE:

Im selling the car. It cant do what I need a car to do anymore (I need backseats).

So Im going to convert it back to stock in the spring unless someone pipes up and says that they want it with whatever parts on it.

In the meantime, if you or someone you know may want to talk about it, LET ME KNOW!!!

2002 #5 currently has a the new autorotor CTSC on it. No story car with up to date maintance, including TB and WP. I have all the stock parts too!

Hey

I dont even own and nsx yet and i can already feel your pain...such a beautiful car...hope all works out for you in the end....:frown:

Haha, Puma just buy my car and I'll take Dave's ;)

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk, so no I am not dyslexic.

I've driven Dave's NSX. As it sits, it's the best sorted NSX in the country.

You know how i feel about black and how much i want yellow...

I thought you didn't like yellow?

I don't dislike yellow... ;)

Thanks for the words guys - this has been a tough process and an emotional decision.

The car has been amazing since I first drove it home from the dealer. You all know the feeling - you stare at the car in your garage and cant believe that it is actually there! 45k km later, I still do that!

Having it for so long, and it being so great for so long, has been a real treat. Any other car and I would have moved on years ago. NSX's are very special for reasons that you all know, but this NSX has been unbelievable. You all know this car and know how great it has been!

It has been the perfect car.

If anyone is interested, PM me. Car can come as stock as anyone wants as I have all of the stock bits.

If we have PTurbo lurkers who are looking for an NSX, we may be able to work out a trade. If this car had backseats, I would be keeping it.

damn, i am a Pturbo lurker and i am looking for an NSX but doesn't want to get rid of my turbo... just too great to be able to go out and take the kids with me.

But I have more HP than you.....

Let me know if you would consider a trade. We may be able to work something out...

And guys, the car is probably less expensive than you think.

I wont blow it out, but I do need to sell it.

I would also love it to go to someone in the Club.
