There's no easy way to say it so Im going to just say it.

I fairly certain that Im going to be forced to sell my NSX and move to something with back seats come spring time.

This is a disaster. A horrible turn of events. I am very displeased with the situation but I cant get a lift in my garage to keep a third car and my kids are headed in two different directions and I need a car I can drive in the winter too.

Massive disaster!

Im thinking: Used PTurbo. GTR. Maybe an M3. Whatever I get it is going to suck ass. Enough said.

Sorry to hear it, although I am going to say the above listed cars don't really fall into the "suck ass" category...

Don't do it! There must be a better solution. Buy a new house with more garage space. Put your nsx in a garage for exotic storage. Something.

Dave, I'm moving into a new house on 4 acres, leave your baby with me. I'll make sure the fluids are circulated regularly ;)

On a more serious note, if I can find someone to take my car I'll gladly buy yours. HELP!

Wow... this is not happening... Dave, are you sure about this? It would be sad to see the car leaving the GTA. Hope someone local picks it up from you. Keep us posted on your replacement search.

Bad news for Dave - awesome news for whoever buys his car!

You'll miss your NSX Dave, but you'll have the opportunity to own another one of the finest cars in the world. Germany & Italy & England build cars to!

M3s are awesome with big trunks, great driving feel and handling - but it looks like my 335. Trust me go with something more exotic.

997 Turbo would be awesome and are dropping in price like crazy with the 997.2 and the 991 coming out. 996s are practically free and you can build stupid power with them so cheap. I'd spend the extra if for nothing else than the nice interior on a 997.1.

GTR? It's Godzilla. It's like a hot chick you'd nail once, but wouldn't want to marry.

I think it's time for a planning session on your porch with cigars and scotch. This must be discussed thoroughly.

one man;s pain is a another man;s gain ....I;m looking to buy a nsx if you decide to sell... if any one on this board would like to give info on their cars for sale it would be a good time ... I;m shopping in the u.s right now but looking local such as the 95 in guelph toyota on autotrader.ca jh4na1182st800036 .....investigted several in montreal area but all have issues with their history

Do a rumble seat conversion for the trunk:tongue:

Of course I will regret it! If I wanted any of those other cars, Id have bought them. Instead Im being forced into something I dont really want! It is not that they're bad cars, they are awesome, but they are NOT NSXs. Even worse, they're not MY NSX.

Im the original owner of my 2002 and Ive never spent even one second wanting something else. That is one hell of a long time for me to own a car. If I had of bought any of the above when I bought my NSX, Id probably have changed cars twice since then.

If I could put a lift in my garage the problem would be solved, but I cannot jimmy one in and leave enough room for other stuff.

Show me some pics and I can figure this out for you. Give me a little bit, and I'll show you a pic of my garage..........then you'll see

DING DING DING

Im on this!

Some quick night shots (yep, they stink). Removed the rafters, installed collar ties and vaulted the ceiling, "follow the roofline" garage door tracks and a jackshaft opener. The T100's rack clears by 1/2 inch........

I'm actually surprised you have a two car garage in Toronto!!! When my wife and I were looking back at Christmas I couldn't get over how many homes were 1.5 garage (1 car). Everyone parks outside which is nuts!

When we return we'll get a home with a two car garage but install a lift with modifying the garage or finding one with enough clearance.

Keep the NSX...coming from a guy who's now onto his 3rd after owning an 06 911 Carrera. The 911 was cool but it ain't no NSX. If I could have both I would but if only one I'd keep the NSX.

Sweet setup John! Where's the garage door motor/track? I've determined if I remove my ceiling joists for collar ties I can have a shot at having my Chevelle and the NSX up top too. Probably not incorporate my pickup like yours though but two cars nontheless. However, i'm only on a 4" concrete slab... I wonder if that's strong enough for a 4-post lift.

That garage setup is insane. Holy!

I say keep the NSX dude, you will regret it.

Timeless vs timely...timeless wins every time ;)

John,

That set-up is awesome!

Thanks! Credit goes to Gil (CoolNSX) for helping me with the mods in my garage to allow the lift to fit/work for my application. I did all of the carpenter work myself to save some dough

The garage opener is a jackshaft model and is attached to the torsion bar. The door tracks follow the roofline. The concrete needs to be 3.5” Min. Thickness

You can see it at the top of the door on the far end (it's red). The tracks can also be seen in this pic.

It worked out as if it was made for the NSX (and truck)

Below is a video of Marcs (NSXTC) lift in his garage. The setup is exactly like mine, except his garage was built with a vaulted ceiling.
He moved to a bigger house/smaller garage, so I had Bendpak move the lift to my house

Looking at these lift configurations, I'm sure you can make this work. Even if the slab wasn't 4" thick, you could have the slab repoured worse case.

It would be a shame to see you go. You were on the first guys back in 05 that I hooked up with and it would be sad if you sold. Personally, I think we can make the lift work for you!

Dave,

Does lift = 3rd car with a back seat? Or are you resolved to a 2nd car with room for 4?

Practical solution is to replace the NSX with something with a back seat that I can drive all year around.

Im going to think about it until spring time.

What I should do is stick the back seat from a PTurbo into a GT3!

get an F-car and you'll soon be asking, what did "NSX" stand for again???....

Awesome cars for my friends to buy! Get on it swbatte, whats taking you? Cant find an automatic?

The only car that I wanted, and was moving to get until life gave me a small hiccup last summer, was a Gallardo.

Good thing too because Id be having the same problem right now!
