My gf has recently gave in and started to buy the stuff from the ShopNBC channel. It has been known to be the "hangout" place of housewives. Anyone care to share their experiences?

Hey, if she's spending her own money leave it alone. However, if she expects you to pick up the tab, or is managing her finances such that it interferes with your relationship and/or mutual future goals, then there's a problem, and you should seek help immediately. My $0.02.

cut the cable if it gets out of hand.....especially when the credit card bill comes under your name
I'm not too concerned about she spending her own money or mine. I think the more important issue is that it's not "necessary" to shop at home. Then again, I buy a lot of car stuff through the internet
