I was told this story when I visited the Honda Collection in Torrance, awesome!
Great story.
Please don't sell it just now, Ed. When the time comes, consider selling it to another collector that has a keen sense of protecting it's unique history. You've got something very rare that only a fool would try to duplicate.
Thanks for sharing!
So there are more out there? I knew there had to be. Ted Klaus told me he had one on his desk. He said his was a little rough because it was pried off one of the NSXs in the first shipment to the US.
Apparently there is even more. I know of a couple of others that have them. Looks like more than Honda had wanted since they were ALL supposed to be thrown away. LOL
I am happy to be the new owner of the one lmr posted up. This one came from an ex honda employee that recieved it directly from the person removing it from the cars as they arrived in the port of la. So mine is one of the 300 that was on an nsx that should have been destroyed after removal.
Today is a happy day!

Glad to have helped.
Now if you want the brochures that may cost you more than the emblem........................

If I tell the price I paid, then I make myself look foolish, but it was something I had to have, and luckily the seller and I had met and done business before so I was able to persuade him to sell. He was mixed on selling it in the first place. He is a great guy and I feel very lucky.

Recently while watching NSX videos on YouTube I noticed the unusual Acura emblem on this 1991 NSX promotional video. I did not think much about it until I read this thread tonight. If Honda attempted to pull all the incorrect emblems and promotional material they missed this.

Here it is. I now (also thanks to les) have the original brochures with the original and updated badges!
