Thank You Hand Brake!!

Funny Story; from lack of use this crappy winter My NSX's battery decided to die. So I had to push it out of my garage to jump start it. So I ask My lovely wife to sit in the car and hit the brakes when it gets out into the driveway.my driveway is on a slight slant, then theres grass, then my neighbors driveway.Well i push the car out of the garage it starts picking up speed My wife is stepping on the brake the car isn't stopping.
Now shes in a panic I'm yelling at her to step on the brake the car's rolling faster she's even more nervous im in a panic my neighbors cherokee is 6 ft away and closing. so im screaming at her to pull the hand brake.she pulls it up (women arent to strong)
I get lucky and it stops 1 1/2 feet from the cherokee. After a few curse words i get in the car and see my clutch pedal cover was broken off. I guess thats why the brake wouldnt work

Huh? What does one pedal have to do with the functioning of another? I would bet your brakes are working fine and that your wife was not used to the effort required without any vacuum assistance (which would not be present until the engine was running).

I bet that she blammed you because the car is a manual transmission and she couldn't find the brake pedal.

We've all been there.

My wife drove mine a few weeks back and I was pleasantly surprised. She was very smooth with the clutch/shifting... due in some part to the cars excellent design I suspect.

On the up side if I get her to share my enthusiasm it'll make purchasing the next-gen NSX much easier!
