BP100 Black
BP200 Clear

Shield, from Dupli-Color, provides temporary spray-on protection for your vehicle where bugs and road grime can do damage. It’s ideal for the front end, rear quarter panel and rocker panels.

Spray on Shield as a temporary bra for long road trips, quick mud flaps or as a bug guard. Shield sprays on easily and dries in less than a minute. And best of all, it stays on until you wash it off. You can power wash it off or use soap and water. Rain, snow or moisture in the air won’t affect it. This product leaves no residue on a vehicle’s paint. Give your vehicle the protection that it deserves with Shield.

Think it'll work? Hmm...Who's going to try it first... ?

1,2,3 NOT IT!

Of-course it will/does work! I'm going to try both the black & clear soon, after I clay/polish/wax & fix some rock-chips...

There's alot of residential/commercial development going on where I reside, so I get alot of debris as well as dust/vegetation/bugs. I don't plan on applying this regularly, only when I know I won't be able to detail my NSX as often as I wish to.

Anyways, this seems like something worthwhile for people doing long-distance drives/commutes, outdoor-storage, track-events, etc'. Looks hecka'lot better than the painters-tape, much more paint/clear-coat friendlythan the OEM fitted-bra, and alot more cost-effective than the Clear-Bra (for seasonal drivers).

There are gonna be a bunch of dopey women walking out of Pep Boys or Autozone with this stuff and spraying it on their chests.

I bought two cans of the clear. It DOESN'T work! After several hours of drying it comes right off even if you just touch it with your finger. I don't think it gives much protection, if any at all.

I think the main purpose of these products is to put a slick removeable "shield" over the paint to make bug and tar removal a bit easier. When you think about it, how can a spray possibly protect against impact damage from gravel or other road debris.

as I said in the beginning...although does it leave streaks and a mess to clean up? If not maybe it would be a cool bug protectant to just spray off at the end of the ride....hmmm?

Maybe it's just not sticking to your Zaino

I wonder how many cans it would take to paint the whole car flat black for a show or something..

There is a thicker spray and spread water soluable coating that I have seen at some DE's in the NE.It is hazy to white in color and dries to a hard wax like coating.Try googling a description of it.I unfortuneatly don't have anymore specifics.

Actually I read something a while back about using PAM cooking spray or something like that to protect from grime and tar for cars on their way to shows. I also read something about syram (sp) wrap.

I take back my previous comments... I drove up to Mid Ohio this weekend and back with the spray on clear bra. The front of the car was covered with bugs, tar and rubber. A little soap and water and the clear bra and all the crap came right off. No scubbing needed. So it works pretty well.

I finally gave it a try as my wife and I picked up her SC 430 from the dealership. The main purpose of having this on was for the car to have protection before the clear bra is put on. Man am I pissed. I still picked up about 4 rock chips from the dealership to my home. This stuff may work for bug guts and road tar, but definitely not rock chips.

One advantage I can see to this thing is for the track. Spray it on before you add the number stickers or painter's tape. This way it will come off easier and not harm the clear coat.

They suggest leaving a coat of unbuffed wax before applying the number tape...this will make it easier and quicker.

Did the spray advertise that it protected against rock chips?

No. All it does is make removal of splattered bugs, tar and other soft contaminants a bit easier. It was never intended to protext against rock chips. Even a 3M Clear Bra won't protect against a rock impacting your car at high speed.

In other words it's basically useless.

UPDATE:

This stuff normally sells for like $7 per can. Walmart, atleast mine has them on clearance for $2 per can in clear and black. There's atleast 10 cans on the shelf at my walmart.

I recall a small article in Motor Trend or Road and Track this month in which they tested this product and found it to be not worthy of the time and expense. All it did was make the bugs come off a little easier and did not prevent rock chips.
