Just curious. I was thinking about getting myself one of those 'talking' car alarms that I saw on TV, and was wondering if anyone out there has actually seen (or heard) one in person or maybe even uses it on their own vehicle. How reliable and effective are they? Also, what company makes the best version? Any input would be much appreciated, thanks.

i belive viper aka dei makes one that that you can record ur own personal warning on.... i recently saw this on news . You should have heard a few of the warnings ...not for childrens ears to say the least.
if i was to get any alarm for my car it would be a compustar spread spectrum 2 way alarm .... it has a one mile range and keeps u informed of the vehicles status instantly.... it also pages u when there is a change of status ... this alarm also won an award two years in a row at the consumer electronics show.
