The windshiel lower molding clips are expensive 10$ so to remove I found that pushing on the clip to release it from the molding helps, I've attache a picture from service manual

Yes these can be coated in black, currently that option is only for European buyers,

International buyers get the standard version,
But! when covered up with the plastic trim they aren't visible
