Taitec exhaust spew...

Just recently installed the Taitec GT lightweight. It's been spewing metal shavings or some other sort of fiber from the exhaust tips when you're running the car.

My car is black and the spew on my bumper makes it look like I painted my rear end metallic black  I've had it for a about 2 weeks and 400 miles or so. I'm hoping this problem goes away soon.

Other than this problem I'm totally happy with it. A friend of mine who's very familiar with exotic cars says if he closes his eyes and hears my exhaust at 3500-4000 rpms it sounds like a Murcielago  .

Anyhow SOS, where I purchased the unit says it just needs to break in and it should stop spewing.

Anyone else experience this?

i installed mine recently (maybe 3-4 weeks) and i havent noticed anything comin out of the exhaust save for the awesome exhaust note

it's possibly the packing that they usually put inside the exhaust thats coming out of yours

It's probably not as noticeable on silver paint. It might even blend in with
your metallic flakes. Try rubbing your fingers on the rear tail light lense after your drive. There should be plenty in that area, if you have the same problem.

Hey I have a CT exhaust and it does the same thing. I get a very fine dusting on my bumper of what looks like fiberglass particles or something from the exhust. My exhaust has about 3K miles on it.

My CT exhaust does the same thing but then again so did my stock exhaust. Rear bumper is always filthy; thats just the NSX for ya!

It's normal, it's just some of the fiber stuffing from inside the canister.

It will go away after some bit of driving. I'd keep a microfiber towel with some quick detailer and wipe it down after driving.

I did not experience this at all, I have white nsx.

Nsx does kick up a lot of dirt on the rear bumper compare to other cars, so maybe is just just dirt.

I'm thinking it might be a normal occurance for new exhausts. My Tubi did the same thing for the first 2K miles or so.

I was just about to do a search on this too!
When I parked my car in my garage, I noticed the shavings that looks like metallic paint on my rear bumper. I didn't remember driving or parking anywhere near an industrial park. I'm glad to know that it's just the exhaust breaking in and that I'm not the only one experiencing this.

no shinny metal flakes on my NSX After JGTC install/
However i still get some really fine black dirt partilces on the bumper i thought it was from my OEM muffler, guess not.
(i wonder what that is???)
