...Tamiya VS Fujimi. Plastic Models 1/24 scale

I just got the Fujimi one (NA2), and here is my thought... comparison with the Tamiya (NA1).

In short, the Tamiya one is cheaper than Fujimi, and better.
Fujimi is all 1 colour plastic, and Tamiya has different plastic for different bits... looks better quality. And best of all the engine is a separate on the kit, where as the Fujimi has no engine (just part of the chassis...

Tamiya has different size alloys and tyres for front and back, but Fujimi seems to not care about the tyre size. All 4 are the same...

Kind of strange cos the Fujimi is made in Japan, and Tamiya is made in Phillipines.

I was thinking of buying the Fujimi NSX type R model (NA2), but with this sort of quality its probably not worth it... I just wait for my Rosso model to arrive : )
Tamiya also have NSX-R model (NA1), but it looks identical to the normal one anyway (its not lighter or anything!) Different alloys I suppose.

It might be fun building them together with swapping newer bits from the Fujimi NA2 onto the Tamiya NA1.

NA2 Type R

I have (2) NA2 Type R (not yet built) and several Tamiya NSX NA1. I agree with you, detail on the Tamiya is more complex. Tamiya contains more parts and pieces where the Fujimi is a simple layout.

On the Tamiya, I spent hours painting and detailing the Engine Bay but truthfully, I never saw it since then. So Im ok with the Fujimi Type R, it also contains a cool Engine Mesh to display the bay

I thought about swapping wheels, My NA1 with 02 Type R wheels, hmmmm???

Can you post pictures of your NA2 when you complete it?

regards

Fujimi is not as top rated as Tamiya, however, it just seems like they are doing a better job in business wise ( I mean market research instead of actual R&D of the actual model.)

I for one, knows exactly that Fujimi is no where close to tamiya, but I still managed to buy 3 of them to 1 Tamiya just because they have a lot of choice ( like all JDM tuners, different style model ) however, I'm very suprise that Tamiya "lose" the NA2 copyright to the Fujimi... I guessed that had a lot to do with the fact that Fujimi had all the Mugen, and type R models (Civic, Integra and even the Odyssey) and even have the "honda certification" .

When you finished, pls do post the pics...

there's one thing about Fujimi, all the models looked very lifted after assembly... however the worst thing about the simplicity design of the models (and not detail) makes it very easy to eliminate wheel gap... or lowering it, I basically had all my fujimi models lowered and looked pretty good.

:D
