Does anyone know of a fix for this problem other than buying new ones? Could a car upolstery shop fix them? I've been watching the postings for a good used set, but haven't found any yet. I need ivory ones.

I'm not sure if they can be repaired. They may have to be replaced.

When I bought my '91 about six years ago, the person inspecting my car noted that both visors were split in several areas. I saw them and thought about replacing the visors but then decided not to.

I only notice the splits when the visor is completely down and pushed toward the windshield. When I do use the visors, they only go about 2/3 of the way down. I checked my visors and the splits haven't gotten any larger since I bought the car six years ago so I really have no interest in replacing them.

The visor consists of a wire frame covered in foam surrounded by vinyl. It's the vinyl which splits. I think a good upholstery shop could add another layer of vinyl or leather to the visor and cover up the split, but I don't think the original vinyl layer can be repaired. Check out an upholstery shop and let us know.

I would worry about a repaired visor being more susceptible to a recurrence of the problem.

And, with a list price around a hundred bucks and a discounted price even less, it's not all that expensive to "do it right the first time" by replacing it.

I installed a new visor 2 years ago and it has split already.

Brad, did you get the replacement visors at an Acura dealer? And did you confront them about the short life of the new ones? Unless the dealer stands behind the replacements I think I might go the repair route. I haven't checked the price at my dealer yet, but nsxtasy did you mean $100 apiece or for both? I want them right, but in my book thats a little pricey.

Yes, I got the visor at an Acura dealer but I have Alex Zanardi's autograph on it so I will try to get it repaired.

Apiece. That's list price. You can shop around and find them discounted for a bit less. Oh and the right visor for the NSX-T is a bit more.
