I'm feeling pretty dumb right now because I can't figure out how to de-mate 2 connectors. I am attempting to troubleshoot a problem with my driver side power window and I need to uncouple the 4 pin and 6 pin connectors that hook up the power window controller but I can't get the connectors apart. Can anybody clue me in? In the pic below, the yellow arrows point to tabs that appear to be locking the halves together but I haven't found the right combination to this lock. Please make me feel dumber by showing me how easy it really is

Hi, clean_green.

You need to press down really hard at #1.
You may hear a ‘click’ when you managed to unlock the tab.
Then, pull apart the plug/receptacle connectors.

For multiple terminals connector, it could be very tight so it will help if you insert flat head screw driver into the narrow gap at #2 and then apply small leverage force to persuade the separation.

The tab at #3 is just a retainer to mount the connector to the bracket and it does nothing for locking the two connectors for this specific type.
From the photo, I’m assuming that you have managed to remove the connector from the bracket.
Otherwise, it is not easy to separate the two connectors so best to first take the connector assembly off the bracket.

If it is the 4pin Water Proof Connector, then it’s the same as the one used at the Primary O2 sensors.
Sumitomo 090 WPC type.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Kaz! This should do the trick for me. I was just afraid to probe around blindly and possibly damage the connector. It does appear to be a waterproof connector.
