I have one, but a friend needs one....could you do one polished or carbon fiber looking? thanks:cool:

Ross,

Great job on the RSTB! I had been running the stock RSTB for a few years now on my 96 targa and had gotten used to the creeks and cracks and the popular 55-60 mph shake and what not and thought nothing of it.

I decided to get your RSTB with only hoping for it to make a difference. All I can say is WOW!!!!! I never thought this would have made a difference, but it did. Combined with your Front Chasis Bar my car is SUPER stiff. No creeking, no cracking, no flexing and improved response in handling, not to mention the 55-60 mph shake is GONE!

Thanks for making this offering to the NSX community and I would highly recommend these additions (Front Chasis Bar and Rear Strut Tower Bar) for guys that do not track thier car as well. They WILL notice a difference.

Another +1 for Ross and the RSTB!

Installed mine about a week ago and like everyone else says... totally stiffens up the chassis, no more creaks with the top off or on steep driveways.

Waiting on new tires so as soon as I get those on I'll post a proper impression of the RSTB.

I installed mine but I had a hard time transfering the prop rod. I also found that I had a pipe support bracket for air conditioning or something had to be cut. Am I the only one with these issues my car is a 2000.

I had no issues transferring the prop rod, although I purchased a new islet for the STMPO bar, because removing the old one was a pain.

Most, if not all of us, had to cut the bracket on the passenger side. Nothing that a Dremel can't handle, but it was nice to know about going into the installation.

i recently installed mine and really like the feel. its a must for targa's. i used a unibit and opened one hole on each side to get a good fit.

Would someone be able to post a pic of where the cutting needs to happen? I just ordered the RSTB from Ross, and wasn't aware cutting would be required. Although most of you say its a minor mod, any cutting causes me some hesitation....

Thank you,

Curtis

Thank you,

I opened one hole on each side of the bracket with a step/unibit drill bit.

Mine was a straight bolt-on, no cutting required. Car is a 98.

I was able to reuse all parts from the rod prop as well without any issues, just pop the rod out first, then the black retaining clip carefully with a flathead/pliers.

Quick question all...

I am using the factory clamshell to store my top...

With this installed will I still be able to retain the use of the factory clamshell?

Thanks so much...

Jeff

I also found that I had a pipe support bracket for air conditioning or something had to be cut. Am I the only one with these issues my car is a 2000.

This seems to be an issue only on 00's and 01's.

I had to cut the bracket on my '05.

Given that, and since I know Semnos_NSX and he didn't have to cut it for his '99, I think we can now safely say that 2000-2005, will need this mod before installation.

You'll cut the bracket during the install. It was at least covered, if not attached to the factory bar. I would just include this slight modification as a step during the installation. It is a 5 - 15 minute process, depending on tools and how picky you are with regard to its final look. I just used a dremel with a metal cutting wheel, then sanded the cut edge smoothly, and I painted the cut edge black. It helped that I have black touch up paint for another car. I would not let this slight modification hold you up for ordering and installing this great product.

 Excellent product! Definitely complements the Front Chassis Bar. Just installed today so didnt have time to really see all the difference.

Very noticeable with regard to rigidity and stability on 99-Targa. Will review more after further driving
