Steering Wheels. Type-R, NRG, Dali, MOMO

you can use the SPLASH hub for the NSX.
its a JDM part that will allow you to use the cruise controls.
i'm able to get it, but not sure about the wait time from japan to california.
its always special order, so you pay first, and wait a few weeks or more.
almost forgot to mention, the splash hub is about 2-3 times the price of a momo hub.

the splash hub is the only hub that is short, that allows cruise control and horn to function. when use with NRG quick release that i provide you guys, the "rake" or i guess length is retained similar to the factory OEM spec.

that means you can always still use the signals and wiper controls with your hands still on the wheel. you wont need long ass Shaq-fu fingers.

next you either need the Dali Racing cruise control buttons, or get the sparco ones, which i can get you as well.

if youre good with electrical, and reading diagrams, then youre good to go to hook everything up.

some more.
suede 330mm wheel and 330mm leather D-cut.
both have the new Black Chrome/Gunmetal Gen2.5 Quick Releases.
the Leather D-Cut has a black and red 'H' horn button.
i'll put on the one's with red cross stitching next time.

Access to the horn button probably depends on the wheel, it's easily accessible on mine, and I can't think of a wheel combination that would make it hard to access... perhaps one with a large trim ring surrounding the button?

The quick release is a theft-prevention measure, you remove your wheel and the theif would need the exact same quick release interface on a second wheel in his car - there is also a lock-on cover for several hubs, including the NRG hub. With any momo-design wheel the theif could, in theory, remove the 6 screws and install their own momo-bolt wheel, but the NRG keyed cover would hide these holes as well. It's as secure as you want it to be, and far more secure than the OEM wheel, which could, in theory, be removed by anyone with a phillips screwdriver and a ratchet set.

You should get the NRG short hub, quick release lock cover, and NSX-R wheel from Erick ;)

Thanks a lot for the answer, exactly what I need. I moved my original question to the other thread as I realized I just hi-jacked the thread. John, can you move your answer to the other post as well?

I will rush out and buy the set up in a few minutes from now.

i might have to start paying john a commision.

here are some more pics of some various steering wheels and NRG quick releases I've installed this month.

yllwnsx/matt and bpiddy/brandon are both using steering wheels by Personal.
both the wheels are a deep dish/concave style which works with the NRG 1.0 50mm super short hubs. retains horn function only.

the other wheels wont work because theyre not deep enough.

here is matt's set up on his yellow 2002. V1.0 50mm NRG NSX Hub, V2.5 Quick Release full black. Black Leather with yellow cross stitching by Personal.

hey randy,
does that mean you'll be joining the aftermarket wheel/quick release club and be showing it off by the December NSX meet?
Close. I want to check all of them out at December's meet so I know what I can ask "Santa" for Christmas. :D

Wow! The difference between the oem wheel and the Sparco is night and day. I had to take Sepulveda down into the Valley just to test the feel out on the twisties. Result... too much damn fun! No doubt, one of my favorite mods to my NSX.

Erick's steering wheel package is awesome! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do a steering wheel mod.

Thanks for everything Erick,

-Simon

SimonS2K got this installed today.

Sparco Tuner Ring 330mm in black leather.
nice big grips. NRGV2.0 Hub and Quickrelease.

Nice steering wheel Simon. For everyone who doesn't have one of these yet i'd highly recommend that you buy it. Not only does it look cool but the steering response is great as well. Erick installed mine along with the NRG hub and quick release, for a great price too  Thanks again Erick

Looks awesome.

For those who don't live by Eric and wants to install the wheel themselves, is there a DIY thread anywhere showing how to do this, esp disconnecting the airbag??

i made a very easy DYI that i'll be including in each kit.
i pre-assemble and pre-wire all the steering wheel kits before i send out so it makes install hella easier. from there its just a bolt-on plug-n-play deal. trust me on this one.

getting the parts alone unassembled will leave you clueless.
