Stalling issue

Every so often (such as this morning), when I approach a stop sign and I lift the throttle and depress the clutch, instead of rpms smoothly dropping to 800, it drops to 0 and the car stalls. When this happens, it's a b*tch to restart... I usually need to sit with hazards on for a minute or two before it will restart. Not sure if the "unnatural" stall caused a flooded engine or vapor lock or something else. This only seems to happen when first on the road and the engine oil has not yet reached peak temperature. Once the engine is warm, it properly idles again.

This problem is intermittant.. but I've had it happen before after disconnecting the battery causing the computer to reset its learning. (maybe I have a glitch that resets the computer?? Also, I have a Camp 2 plugged into the OBD-II port, could it be doing something similar?)

Anyone have any ideas? I've not had anyone look at it yet, but was wondering if there's something simple I should look at or replace... the car is 15 years old at this point..

Thanks in advance!

I've had similar issues with late 80s and early 90s BMWs after disconnecting the battery. It seems to take the computer a little while to learn to find a steady idle, even though the car drives fine otherwise.

Have you cleaned your throttle body lately? Are you getting any trouble codes?

Could be just a dirty throttle body or a partially clogged IACV (idle air control valve). Run some spray throttle body cleaner through it.
Good Luck!

Might be your main relay failing.
I had similar problem. Replaced the main relay. Have not had any problems so far.

x2. Fixed the same issue for me a few years back.

Definitely sounds like a throttle body problem to me. I had the same issue about 8 months ago and it was fine after I cleaned out the throttle body.
