Speedometer question - oh dear

My speedometer isn't registering suddenly

Is it electronic or a cable ?

I'm hoping it's the cable snapped or the sensor fell off

Any advice very much appreciated

I posted this problem about a year ago. I replaced the speed sensor and all is now well. Do a search with my username matteni and you will find all my notes.

Its electronic. The harness' attach to the dash on the lower left and right. You can get at them by removing the two panels in the upper area of the footwell. But, Id say that if it is only your speedometer that isnt working, its probably not just a loose harness.

PM me if you want more info as to how those panels come off.

Thanks, looks like it's the spped sensor, but where is the speed sensor located exactly ?

I just had all the wheels off to power wash under the arches and bring it back to new - I'm hoping that I just disturbed a wire somewhere but can't see anything obvious

It is located on the transmission, just below the control box/air cleaner. Check the online service manual:
