I was taking a friend (new M5 owner) for a ride today and as I passed through 75 or so the speedo needle stopped moving and then a few seconds later suddenly popped up to 95-100. This happened a few more times. Later, driving home, I set the cruise at 80 and, without speed change, saw that the speedo read 70. I then sped up quite a bit until about 4500 without change in the speedo needle and then I realized how fast I must be going. So, major speedo problem? OR . . . . omen from above that I really need to get the new white gauges (while speedo being fixed). [truth is I could live without the speedo just using the tach but those white gauges . . . . .]
