not sure if it will help, but just another thing to consider.
The back circuitry on the gauge cluster is known to suffer from the same bad condenser
problems of the CCU and Bose amps.... there is also reports on Prime of the board burn
down... check it and have the condensers changed to new ones (BrianK do that).
It can be a source of your problem, as the speedo is fed by those boards
