Primers,

I just installed my speed bleeders... and it works great. However, I'm new to bleeding, period. So torquing down 10ft-lbs kind of freaks me out.

I am definitely not getting any fluid out of the bleeders... the pedal is super firm.

I don't have to worry about those things coming loose on it's own? Then start leaking with only 10ft-lbs of measly torque?

I have also heard I'll have to reapply the sealant at one point because it will start leaking around the sides? Is this true? If so when should I expect to have to do it?

Thanks guys!

Don't worry about a thing. No need to apply or reapply sealant, they seal fine on their own. The torque is not critical either. I snug them down without a torque wrench every time and haven't had a leaker yet (I change my fluid regularly for the track). The metals in the calipers and in the bleeders are hard, and unlike aluminum, hard to strip (that said - it can be done - so just snug them down).
Happy Motoring!

Well, 10 FOOT pounds would scare the heck out of me too. Twist right off I would think....or just strip and pop out under stress.

I was rather skeptical of the 10 INCH pounds, but it works just fine.

Just tight enough to stop the bleeding :)
