SOS short gear stalk - OE Honda part? Does it look new?

Can I just point out that the shift lever that SOS sell is not a JDM part and not an NSX-R part.

The genuine NSX lever doesnt even look the same as the standard NSX one. NSX-R lever has a female shaft and the genuine NSX-R gear knob has a male end which fits into the shaft and why it sits lower.

Heres the JDM parts pic, NO 46 and 47 are the NSX-R parts. It also only fits RHD cars.

Sudesh,

Thanks for clearing things up. You seem to confirm what AR was talking about earlier. The reason my part was shipped without any OEM packaging, was that SOS claimed the shift stalk is a JDM part. Would you happen to have the NSX-R part numbers? As Nuno has mentioned, it'll be nice if we can start to compile a list of NSX-R part numbers.

All the extended thread shift stalks we sell are new. The stalk in your photos you sent look exactly like all the ones we sell. The threads you shown in your photos are not smashed - that's how they are made so that they will work with the factory key'd D washer.

As I mentioned in my e-mail to you, we'd be happy to exchange it for you if you'd like another.

Cheers,

Chris,

E-Mail replied and thanks for giving your input in this thread. The question about the "D washer" was resolved as AR pointed it out earlier, such that the thread was flat on one side to fit a D washer. I brought that particular issue up following my suspicion of the shift stalk I received was used. The photos of what I posted in comparison that of Nuno's photos, becomes visibly clear and supports my reasoning of why I think I have received a used part.

As you stated, all of the shift stalks you have in stock are of the same condition to what I have received. This defeats the purpose of exchanging one for the other; Thus, I am requesting a refund for this item and not an exchange. Please provide further instructions for returning this item and a RMA number if necessary.

Looking forward to resolve this in a prompt manner.

Thanks for your attention.

Hi,

Yes Ary knows what he is talking about as he owned a genuine NSX-R!

If your car is RHD then the Genuine NSX-R leaver will fit, if its LHD it will not.

The part number is: 54101-SL0-J00

The one in the above pic is the genuine NSX-R setup,

The one in this pic is not from what I can see, it may be NA2 NSX-R

Hi,

Yes it is NA1 NSX-R

Sudesh,

I also found this link while searching for the part number you posted. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I was able to confirm three of the parts myself.

Thanks again for clearing things up and confirming that the part I received is not a JDM part. Maybe it's only Made In Japan? ;)
