SOS Composite Center Console

I got the SOS Composite Center Console last week.I don't have the picture of the back but I do have picture of it install.Fits really nice, better than the DF thats for sure.I had the DF and I didn't like the way it fits and I really didn't like the way the ash tray door look with my Alpine IVA W900BT/double din.Anyway, here is a couple picture of my SOS Composite Center Console installed a couple days ago.Cut out and installed myself.

Fitment, quality and the layout of the fiber glass is smooth if you ask me.

And how about the fragility?

I've seen a few center console that feel flimsy and girlie. In other words, speed shift, hands slip and u just punched through the center console like the hulk.

Ur set up is the route I'm intending (sans ashtray), however, I'm trying to determine how I would install a couple of cigarette lighter for my radar/laser detector and cell phone charger.

Are u using the pod for the HKS Camp?

Console is pretty strong.Actually it feels strong as the factory console if not stronger. The pod is use for navi or video.Either or.Just have to go in setting and switch it to want I want but I will mainly use it for navigation. As for the cigarette light/12volt I bought one from SOS as well and is installed it in the glove box.Haven't got a chance to do it yet.I'm very happy with the SOS console.

hi Tyler --

Thank you for your review, we appreciate it.

thanks,

Carbon version would be killer. :frown:

We have considered this. The problem is due to the complex curves of the console, it isn't possible to get the weave of the carbon material to be uniformly straight. Add the factor of the number of units that would be junked due to not passing quality inspection and it becomes and expensive proposition. Give us some time if you'd really like a carbon unit and we'll see if the manufacturing process can be dialed in. That being said, if you're wanting a carbon unit for strength - we're using a high strength cloth and compression mold - the result is a part that's as rigid and strong - perhaps stronger than the factory console.

i assume you use a dremel tool with a cutting disk, speaking of cutting is the vent on the bottom worth cutting is there a purpose for the vent?

Dremel tool doesn't work good nor give you a straight cut.If you talking about the one by the handbrake it's for the tempeture senor for the AC well that was what I was told. Its there for a reason and I don't see what else it could be for.

I think I would just take it to a stereo shop or something to cut it. I don't want to risk messing it up.

Yea you might wanna do that.I used to work at a car audio place so I know what i'm doing and if you don't know what you doing then just take it to a professional

Thanks Chris for providing an image of the backside of the console.

How do you attach the shift boot and coin box to the console without the mounting tabs?

Also, how do you mount the AEM gauges? Thre is nothing for them to mount to?

How does the Shift boot mount to the new console? I didn't notice the mounting screws like on the factory console.
