I have a triple black '91 with approximately 109K miles. If I start the NSX after it's been off overnight, I sometimes can't engage 2nd gear immediately. I will get a brief grinding noise as if I tried to engage 2nd without depressing the clutch. The problem goes away after the car is warm. I suspect 2 things. Because of the high mileage, 2nd gear may be worn, or that I have not sufficiently warmed the car. Any thoughts would be helpful. TIA

The 2nd gear Syncro might be worn, although that would be apparent all the time. Or you could just need a tranny fluid change. I've heard that changing the type of tranny fluid can make a big difference as to how the transmission feels.

I had the same problem, then I switched to Royal Purple 75/90 after been using Red Line MTL and the problem is gone.
