Someone egged my NSX!!

Taking up two parking spaces - even in the furthest reaches of a parking lot - encourages vandalism, IMHO.

Well I knew it was a BIG mistake to even take my baby out to a part of town that I already knew it wasn't safe to do so. But who can resist taking their pride and joy to a major auto show such as this one? I know I can't! I sorta thought about the possibility of some moron keying my car if I took up 2 spaces, but if I don't I might get door dings from other cars parked next to mine. So it's either the door dings (70% probability) vs. Key marks (30% probability). I also figured in the presence of parking attendants standing guard in their booths 30 feet from where I parked my Zanardi would lower the chances of key scratch. Guess all of that pre-planning was all but an exercise in futility. Heck for all I knew one or both of them COULD'VE been the perpetrators, esp. the kind of salary these folks earn and the respect(?)they get from exotic car-driving *snobs* like us (their thoughts). I guess I was too naive to trust my car to them like if the car were their own.

Bottom line: keep your NSX's parked indoors away from jealous eyes, and don't trust any parking attendants to look after your NSX.
If you absolutely need to park your NSX other than your own garage, ask your friend a fovor if you can park your NSX in his (indoor) garage.

P.S. I look forward to the day someone egg my Zanardi so I have the justification to snipe that little punk out of existence with my AR-15! (j/k)

And did you accept the 30% "keying" possibilty? Wow, I would never enjoy the car show by knowing that there's one possibility out of three to come back and find the car keyed!!!

Anyway, taking two parking spaces is really a "no go" for me! I can somehow understand the average underpaid person, roaming for hours and looking for a free space and see your "ferrari" taking *his* place without a good reason (no, *possibility* of door dings, is not a good reason, you shoul park somewhere else if you fear that).

Well, the scratch isn't that bad, really. If you're not super anal like I am to look for it you're not even going to see it. All I can say now is that I've learned my lessons (the hard way) and WILL NOT EVER consider parking my baby anywhere BUT inside my own garage. Period. Just so that all of you know that if by any chance I'm selling my NSX, you'll get the most pampered Zanardi that you can ever come across. Hopefully that day will NEVER come. Those that were there at this year's SoCal Canyon run can attest to that, right fellas?

I think its really just random dumb luck.

Ive had lots of things happen to my NSX in the 8+ years Ive owned it now.

First few years were the worst... everything from 7-11 drink cups being thrown at it on the highway, full of soda mind you, to being spit on.

One little pet peeve that really gets me, is after a fresh wash/waxing taking it out parking it and coming back to hand prints all over the windows, back glass, and paint. The kind of prints that are generated when someone is smashing their face to the glass to look inside, always my favorite

There's only so much we can do, cause the world is full of individuals that may not see the car in the same light we do. I take it with a grain of salt now, and just don't let it bother me.... if it gets damaged, it can be fixed.

My first few years, I sung a different tune, overly paranoid, scared to drive it, you name it...

now, I just don't worry about it anymore... she's here to stay, and can be fixed if broken. Afterall, thats why we have insurance right? ;P

I wonder if anyone here has been gutsy (or foolish?) enough to valet park their NSX?
If you did, what happened?

I valet mine, never had a bad experience with that. Mostly I valet it at Dennis Rodmans club where it sits right up front with the Ferarris, Lambos, and occasional Jag XJ220. Since they only move the car 10 feet its not a big deal, they treat shit REAL GOOD there!

But once I got egged in Laguna parked on PCH on a saturday night. It hit the drivers side door & caused that fucked up egg-shaped little perforations in the paint. I at first thought it was done by this girl I recently ended a relationship with that frequented the club I was going to, then I realized she was WAY TOOOOOOO small-brained to plan ahead to bring an egg at the same time she was doing her makeup & hair!

That means that you can't use your car to go anywhere except for a drive that ends up back at home...

I am careful, but I don't worry about it all that much. I can usually find a wide space or an end space that no one cares about. My NSX has not been vandalized in twelve years and 52K miles.

I worry a lot more about where I can park my Integra Type R, since that model is much more of a theft target (due to the interchangeability of its parts with Civics and other Integras).

Yep you got that right! Poor 'ole me *sob sob sniff sniff*, NOT enjoying my Zanardi to the fullest (and still paying premiums for it)!!

Anyway, the last Canyon Drive in camarillo was enough fun for me and my Zanardi to last for another year! I was pretty pooped out by the end of the day (but I'm sure my 'Partner' Zanardi was ready for more)! So I don't think (we) miss the twisties all that much. At least not for another year or so. And you know something fellas? I actually enjoy having my Z just sit there motionless in my garage, all cleaned and waxed up with the cover on and nowhere to go. Every now and then whenever I'm free and not too tired form a long, hard day at work (everyday of my life practically), I'd go down to my garage, lift up the cover that I had on it, grab a low chair and a bottle of mineral water/or beer, and just sit there directly behind my Zanardi (NSX-NOT the guy-me no gay boy like jar jar binks
biggrin.gif
) and stare at the whole rear end for hours on end and enjoy 'the show'.
biggrin.gif

I'm curious, but have any of you guys here done this before, I mean just sat there right behind your babies and stared at the rear end of it, or am I the resident nutcase of this forum?
"Is there a shrink in the house? Can someone help this poor poor soul from damnation? "

For those who never done this b4, may I suggest you try this sometimes. You'll be amazed how dramatic that tail end has on your visual senses from only a few feet away! *sigh*.... Man, I just can't get enough of that view! NOT even Amy Weber's tushie can top that in my list!

BUT seriously guys, I still wanna drive my Zanardi, without having to pull my hair out when I park it away from home!!AARRRGGHHH!!!

Okay, Okay, so the Zanardi won't be my daily beater. I think I'll let it sit there in my garage and collect dust (on the car cover) and perhaps start up the engine once a week and drive 3-5 miles to keep everything in tip top shape. I'm working really hard now to make more moolas for a low-mileage "quasi"-beater 91-94 NSX coupe with aftermkt. Zanardi suspensions installed so I can take it with me anywhere, minus the parking pains. I'm anticipating for that day to come. My beater silver Stook has to go eventually to make room for it. Hopefully things will go as planned. But for now I'm enjoying the hell out of having the big brother NSX and the little brother S2k living together in my garage.

Okay I'm done ranting. Hope it wansn't too annoying, heheh!

For those of you that didn't fall asleep reading ALL OF THIS, give yourself a good hard pat on the back and treat yourself a BUD LITE!
