What about the pic of you in your high school yearbook sitting in an Escort GT?

No way, I had a Honda Accord hatchback.

Any Ford is way better than any GM product, The corvette may go fast but it isnt even 2 levels of exotic below the GT! that is one hell of a car, congrats!

I would trade my twin turbo NSX for one of those anyday. I had an opportunity to drive one and let me tell you, it was damn impressive. A Corvette is a Corvette, is a Corvette, who cares. You go buy your a Z06. Even though they are a hell of a car, come on, it doesn't compare to a GT.

I agree. Any C6 owner can make their C6 look like a z06. However, there is no mistaking the Ford GT. Yeah, The z06 is as quick or possibly quicker on a road course. However, the mid engine design, and classic car looks make for an incredible package.

Congrats from another Texan.

btw, I used to own a Ford GT in the early 90's.

a ford ESCORT GT.

Sweet. Congratulations. The Ford GT is the only US car I would drive. :)

Oh and liftshard, as always: Thumbs down. You sit in front of your computer pressing F5 and waiting for a topic to be created to flame in?

How does it feel knowing a Z06 can smoke you?

I am guessing he does not care since at least with his GT he does not have to pass himself 20 times a day, and he has the positive feeling of owning one of the most exotic and sought after sports cars in the world. ;)

the performance difference isn't that big of a difference...

the driver would decide the win, not whether it's a Z06 or a GT.

He got a Koenigsegg CCR??? Whoa, I am totally on the wrong thread. I got two words for American Made sports car owners: "expect depreciation."

yea.....just found out the wife got me a Christmas Gift....

The old NSX is back. Looks like I only had to be without it for a few months. What a women.

I hated the fact I sold, even as I drove it to Austin to the new owner. However...Love the new ride.

Sold '91 Black/Black NSX
New '05 Black/Black Ford GT
nice ride!

a couple of weeks ago, my wife and i were in our nsx, sitting at a stoplight and a red gt passed by. my wife (not a "car person") says outloud, "whoa, whatkindacaristhatanddon'tyouwantone?".

NEVER heard my wife say anything like that about a car in the past 23 years.

and then we stop by svg to visit the mclaren they've got for sale on ebay (didn't have it in sight, btw) and she see's a new lambo and says just about the same thing... heck, we might ditch the "getttin' a plane" thinking and add another 4 wheels to the garage. (NOT. i don't drive the nice car i've got)

anyway, nice car - looking forward to pics.

Nice123, now that you've had the car a while what do you think of its fit, finish, and general ergo? I just got pre-approval for a GT at 4.75% over 84 months (much cheaper than my mortgage) so I'm in the market for a Ford also. The most pressing issue is whether or not to keep the NSX. Any regrets on getting rid of the NSX? Also, what things do like most about the GT and what things do you miss most about the NSX?
