I hated the fact I sold, even as I drove it to Austin to the new owner. However...Love the new ride.

Sold '91 Black/Black NSX
New '05 Black/Black Ford GT

How does it feel knowing a Z06 can smoke you?

I'm sure it doesn't bother him knowing he could have bought 3 of them no problem. It is the car he wanted so back the hell off.

What's up with that question?

Instead of saying "congrats!," are you trying to make him feel bad with his choice? So what if the vette is faster? Atleast he's driving an exotic car..
Certainly a different class compared to the Vette.

Beautiful car....enjoy! So what are your initial impressions of the GT and compare/contrast to your NSX. Inquiring minds want to know!

Thats the only Ford you'd ever catch me driving (and enjoying). Thats one cool car.

If you really get to missing your 91 NSX we can work out a trade for a few weeks.

Love the new GT. Was behind one on an open road at a light when it took off. Great sound and it looked like the guy was breaking the rears on 1st - 3rd. Outstanding stuff.

Why not just keep the NSX? My guess is you sold the NSX for garage space and not the money as your 91 wouldn't cover the downpayment on a GT. Interested as well in hearing your perception of the GT and relating it to the NSX. Congratulations on a very nice new whip!

Wow. A SC 5.4 making 500hp. Dunno...color me unimpressed with the GT. Maybe a DB9 or a 575 for that money.

The original post by me was a bit of a joke, btw.

Congratulations on the GT - terrific car. Disregard the fool that commented re the Z06 - people like that are always around.

Those GT's are way understated, they make closer to 550 and no way you can buy a Maranello 575 for GT money. 230k > 160k
Lifthard- put the pipe down and back away.

Thanks for the thumbs up.

Two completely different cars. The Ford is a beast no frills, carpet, cruise controll, spare tire, trunk. The Ford you can tell is meant to go to the track.

For plain comfort, miss the hell out of NSX. Also that high rev, sweet sound, is completely different then the grunt of the GT. Both sound fantastic.

The GT is much bigger then the NSX, noticed right away.

As most articles point out the visability is not nearly as good in the GT, you really have to get used to trusting those side mirrors.

Congratulations that is a hell of a new car.
I heard something about a control arm recall on those, hopefully not an issue with yours, and I'm sure you are aware of it. But it sounds like a nasty problem could occur if something breaks. Just thought I would say something cause I'd feel bad if I knew and something happened if I ignored it.
oh yeah there's one of those at the local ford dealership in my town, I've drooled over it a few times. It's kind of funny because it's a really small dealership and I think the GT is worth almost as much as their whole inventory.

You are either an idjit or a clown.

Did I say "brand new"? You can obtain a couple years old 575 for about the same price as a Ford GT. I don't see any GTs on ebaymotors for less than $170,000. The 575 depreciates fairly quickly and the Ford is horrifically overpriced.

Oh, and here we go again with the "secret real HP" BS. The new Z06 beats this junk in a dragrace and at the track. If you want to buy an american car that breaks and is poorly built, the Vette is the cheapest way to do it. I mean, the damned GT is a Ford. To even get 550 from a SC 5.4L is laughable in a car costing this much. Ford didn't even have an ENGINE to put in this car. At least Lambo, Ferrari, Honda, and even effing Lexus are able to make power without having to put a blower on a truck engine. The GT trades on looks and nostalgia. If that's what's important, knock yourself out.

Wow. A very good replacement for the NSX. Looks like you a keen with low slung car. Congrates and enjoy it.

You are definitely the assmunch of the forum.
A dyno isn't B.S hp. When car dynos at +/- near 500 whp the car makes close to 550 at the crank. This is NO SECRET.
As for comparing used prices to new that is pathethic. You could get a used Ferrari 355 spyder for cheaper than a new 911. Doesn't mean a damn thing.
Your not thinking rationally when comparing the two.
For the record no GT's have bids over 168k either so that tell you what they are going for. 160's like I said.

I personally wouldn't by a Ford GT, but the facts are even though the Z06 is a hell of a deal it isn't FASTER than the GT.
3.5 is still faster than 3.7.

Do you have a picture of the NSX and the GT next to each other?
I did not know that the GT used Dali coolant bottles!
