Details: I am a retired independent dealer and a longtime Prime member, although not too active anymore. This was my 3rd personal NA1 since joining the site, and probably my last. I bought it from a close friend sometime in 2021 and have barely put 1,000 miles on it. It has been kept under a car cover inside of a climate controlled warehouse that I own. Recently we pulled it out and changed both valve cover gaskets, VTEC solenoid gasket and put 6 new plugs in. Runs like any 40K mile Honda should run.
Pros: The paint on this car is in excellent condition, with only a couple small very minor paint chips. It was ceramic coated in 2023 with a 5 year coating but has never seen rain nor much sunlight since then. I've hand washed it a few times but it stays covered.
Cons: There is an accident to the left door on Carfax from 1996. It doesn't indicate a level of damage but but back then there wasn't much in the way of details. The repairs performed were very well as was the paintwork. The door was not replaced and there are no signs anything was done except paint. The car also has a mileage flag on Carfax from 1996 when it was in Illinois. One entry in Carfax has a mileage of 6,929 and 3 months later when a new title was issued, the mileage entered was 6,895, which is an obvious typo. It's very odd that Illinois would issue a mileage flag for such a small difference, but every state has different rules about things like this. The Louisiana title I have for the car is clean and does not have any flags. The ABS pump on this car will hum for about 30 seconds every 9-10 starts also. That's a known issue but I can't recall the fix other than replacing the entire solenoid. On my last NA1 I just pulled the fuse and went with it.
Feel free to PM me with any questions or ask them here. I have not been very active lately but I'll keep track and try to answer any questions.
