See, my trophy is to bring the car home with no additional rock chips. My feelings driving home after a track event are both relaxed and exhilarated.

Wow! This is finally happening! We have been talking about something like this for years and never really got the ball rolling!

I am totally in and will call in sick for work that day! :)

...as long as everyone is OK that I dont have an NSX anymore, but I have the Elise instead!

You can do that? I thought it was NSX folks only....I don't have my NSX either (I have a Viper GTS), but would love to go.
 
I thought the title of this thread was pretty self-explanatory >>all NSX track event<<.

If we're going to start making exceptions, it changes the reason this event was being planned in the first place. No offense intended to those that don't own an NSX, but there are numerous open track events available, including Willow Springs. You may want to check out Porsche club events, SCCA and NASA as a start, all of which are open to all makes.

Well...yes but prevailing custom dictates that most single-marque clubs do generally open their track events to a limited number of "other cars".

Exceptions are usually made for instructors, or to fill up spots if not enough of the chosen marque sign up to make the track rental economical.

If you need neither, then I guess you are all set. Ill let the dust settle and let y'all decide.

Calm down folks. Since I started this thread, I guess I have the obligation to put an end to this predicament. Frankly, I thought that it'll be just like other track related threads that just died because of lack of interest. I'm excited that we are talking about who gets to come.

I called it all NSX event, because I want everyone to feel comfortable that we are among friends. And that it is going to be a learning experience and a non-competitive event.

If we can have 25 NSX signed up for the event, then we won't need other marque cars to join us with 2 exceptions.

1>If we don't have enough instructors.

2>People prefer to a lower cost track event by accepting ex-NSX owners to join us. We can still cap it at 30 cars. Frankly, 30 cars is nothing on a 1.8 miles track with 2 run groups. Trust me on this one.

Marc and Spinner have been long time contributors to the Prime site. I certainly don't want to turn them away just because they no longer have an NSX. How about we start a list like this?

Don't worry! You are to be commended for your honesty! Unlike many other sports, for some reason, most everyone thinks they are much better on the track than they really are!

BTW, these photos were taken when we were running counter clockwise in the afternoon. What a blast!

FYI, that morning we were running clockwise. It's almost hitting tracks on one day. If you are interested, we can do the same.
 
What's a good top speed for an NSX running clockwise at the end of the front straight before the first turn? Just curious.:wink:

Hi Dave,

The torque scares me. I don't feel as comfortable driving this thing as I did my NSX...not only in terms of ergonomics, but everything else. The NSX is just an amazing car. It used to be my daily car (the nSx), but this Viper...no way. Like many people have said, the NSX is all about balance...awesome track car that's as civilized as an accord.:cool:

You think that you'd be up for allowing any non-SoCal NSXs to join in the fun? :tongue: Heather and I might be able to round up another car or two to make a trip over there from AZ. We'll see what interest there might be in a trek out there, although that is a bit of a hike for one track day.

We'd be honor to have the Phoenix gang over. We'll have to make sure that it worths your while. I have driven to and from Pahrump (270 miles 1 way) in one day. It'd be an additional 200 miles for you. Make a vacation out of it.
