SoCal to LV Caravan - May 4th

Any suggestions on gas stations along the way?

Looking up google maps, it shows only Barstow (64 miles south Baker) and Jean, NV (50 miles north of Baker) as the closest alternatives.

...

We'll meet at Hesperia at 11:00am. The SoCal Legends are planning to meet us there as well.

...
We'll probably want to meet at the OC gathering point by around 9:30 or 9:45 so that we can get on the road before 10:00AM, just to play it safe with that 11:00AM Hesperia meeting time.

I'm pretty much at my gas tank's limit when I drive to LV, so I usually get gas at the Barstow outlet area, just to play it safe. However, since we're stopped at Hesperia, we should probably top off there, and then wait to fill back up when we get into LV, where gas is much cheaper.

Fill up before you leave town. 270 miles will not require a gas stop in between, unless you are red lining your SC motor all the way to Vegas.

Gas in Nevada is a lot cheaper than SoCal. Regular 87 is as low as $2.97 there today. That's 30 cents lower than around here.

Yup. I won't be meeting up with you guys in OC (since I'm up in LA), but will be heading out to Hesperia at about 10:00 as well. It'll probably get me there by 10:45am if all goes well.

Oh, I will certainly fill up before leaving. But if I don't get gas at some point during the trip, with much of it going uphill, I'll be at the limits of my cruising range, and I don't want to take the chance at running out.

NSX-R gears + 4.55 R&P = owns me.

Randy, If you fill up in Hesperia it's only 196 miles into Vegas, you should be fine.

If we gas up in Hesperia, I'm sure we can make it to LV no problem.

James, does this mean that you'll be able to get out of work on the 4th? :D

PS. I've suggested to the Legend guys to bring FRS/GMRS type two-way radios if they have them. I'll be bringing mine as well as the club radio.

If I can make it with you guys, I will also bring my club radio. But it is still up in the air if I can get Friday off too.

Hey, do you want to leave Corona and cruise up to Hesperia together?

Sure, we can do that, I live by Archibald and Chandler. We can meet at the Starbucks on Hamner and Lemonight the one on the Southwest corner.

Also have we decided that we are meeting at the In-n Out in Hesperia at 11AM? What is the address there?

I plan on leaving Irvine at 9:45. Please let me know if you'd like to ride out to Hesperia with me. It is around 76 miles ride from Irvine to Hesperia.

I'm in. I'll be getting in touch with you to find out where's the best spot to hook up with you near Orange along your route.

-Randy

Randy, where are you leaving from in Orange, I''m coming down Santiago Canyon Road to the 241. Gil

sounds like you OC guys are going to be coming right through our neighborhood. Awsomr1 and I will be meeting off of Limonite in Corona (no specific time set yet) for the drive to Hesperia. If you guys don't mind leaving an additional 10 mins early, we could join up with you guys at Limonite along the way, then we could have a decent showing on the way up to Hesperia...

I will have my club radio and cell on just for you guys. call us before you guys got to the 91E to 15N transition, that is about 5 minutes from us.

We will get on the 15N and wait for you guys by goin 55MPH. hahaha

Are there any NSXs here coming up all the way from San Diego? I'm quite a bit farther south from the other SoCal Legends so I figured it would be better to just take the 15N all the way up and meet them in Hesperia. Going up the 5N from here would be begging for trouble.

I'd love to have a road buddy all the way up to Hesperia if anyone else is coming up from San Diego (La Jolla, specifically).

You guys should meet at the Chevron Station on Jamboree and Santiago Canyon. Then get on the 241 Toll Rd.. This is a central location for the 3 of you.

Just my $.02

Just to confirm, who is meeting at the Chevron station? And is it 9:30 AM as the meeting time? Thanks, Gil

This is a wierd request, but do any of you coming to the Las Vegas meet happen to have changed out your headers on your pre 97 car and have the old stock cast headers sitting in your garage???

I am looking for a set and everyone I PM about there's have thrown them away, or cannot find them.

I am sure someone has them sitting in there garage collecting dust and I am in need of just the rear bank of header for a project I am working on. If you have a set that you could bring to the meet would you please PM me?

Thanks

J. R.

If you want you can meet up with me and BOB around Norco, you take 15N pass 91, exit Limonite, take a left turn, go pass Hamner (first signal) than make a left at the next signal, you should see a Starbucks there.

Me and Bob will meet there to wait for the call from the OC group to join up with them on 15 going to Hesperia. It is about 30-35 min drive to Hesperia from where we are meeting. Let me know.

Sounds good awsomr1, I'll exchange more details with you as the date comes up =)

Just about two days to go, everyone.

Don't forget that the SoCal cars will converge at the In-N-Out in Hesperia (In-N-Out Burger
13704 Main St., Hesperia, CA) at 11:00am. We are set to depart by 11:45am (for the sake of everyone, please don't be late).

We will stop by at Baker briefly to hook-up with the NorCal Legend Caravan for the drive into Las Vegas.

It might also be helpful also to list your name here if you plan to be at In-N-Out in Hesperia for the caravan so that we know whom to expect.

Bring your radios.
