So, to get things organized, I thought I'd start a thread with information regarding the SoCal to LV caravan for the SoCal - Las Vegas get together in May.

Thus far, it has been proposed that we meet up at the In-N-Out in Hesperia for lunch at noon on Friday 5/4.

I passed the proposal on to the group of SoCal Legend owners who will be making the drive up at around the same time, and there appears to be interest in meeting up with the NSX group in Hesperia.

They then plan to meet up with the NorCal Legend owners in Baker between 2:00pm and 2:30pm before heading into LV together.

Please post up your thoughts and interest here.

Club radios will probably come in handy for the drive as well.

Good start to a caravan plan!

But still, any chance of bumping up those times an hour to avoid Friday LA->LV traffic as much as possible?

I'll be lucky if I can get out of the office by 1PM Friday, you guys are killing me with these early dept. times.
Anyways, where is everyone staying that is NSX safe?

By the way, I'm not going to the track event.

Randy, I'm open to whatever works best. The times listed were pulled from discussions both here and acura-legend.com.

I don't make the trek out to LV often, so I don't know much about the traffic flow issues along the route. So, input is certainly welcome. I'll try to coordinate the plans with the A-L.com folks as well.

James, take the day off, man! Tell them that it's for Cinco de Mayo. :D

I'm already taking the weekend off, don't know if I can work Friday into that weekend (plus I do not think I can pass for Mexican here). Anyways, still need suggestion for NSX safe hotel to stay for the weekend.

Randy, I agree fully. If we're going to meet at In n Out I would say 11 AM at the latest. That way we could leave by 11:45 AM to Vegas. Anytime after noon will be dicey IMO. Gil

I'm open to an 11am meet-up.

So at this point, the plan is to meet up at 11am at the In-N-Out in Hesperia, and depart at 11:45am.

Any other interest/input?

I agree. Too early, you'll run into morning work traffic. After 12, you'll run into gambler traffic. 11 is ideal.

I plan on leaving Irvine at 9:45. Please let me know if you'd like to ride out to Hesperia with me. It is around 76 miles ride from Irvine to Hesperia.

I'm in. I'll be getting in touch with you to find out where's the best spot to hook up with you near Orange along your route.

Hey, that's pretty close. My closest freeway on-ramp is Chapman and CA-55.

Chris,
I'd like to hear what your route is, so that I can coordinate with Gil on a good meeting place.

So, let's take this off-line if necessary. We can use GoogleTalk if you want. I see Chris on there some times. :)

Randy,

Post up whatever meet-up points you guys come up with so that others who may be in the area can hookup with you guys.

How about Target in Anaheim off 91 and Weir Canyon Dr.

8148 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd
Anaheim, CA 92808

Gil'll have to back track one exit, but we have met there for NSXPO 05, JGTC and previous Pahrump track events. If we leave there at 10, we'll be at the In and out by 11.

You guys should meet at the Chevron Station on Jamboree and Santiago Canyon. Then get on the 241 Toll Rd.. This is a central location for the 3 of you.

Just my $.02

That works fine for me, meet there at 10 AM! Thanks for the input Scott

:o That's 1 double double ;)

I am trying to see if I can juggle my schedule and join you guys for the weekend. I am being in-volunteered to Harrisburg PA for work, that shortens my weekend time by quite a bit. Arrgh.

Randy, No, it's $2.75 (fries and small drink) or $2.25 with a transponder (large shake). Windy Ridge is the only toll booth we would go through.
Cool, the extra buck fiddy will let me get the fries up at In-N-Out. :) A milkshake would not be a good idea for me if I'm stuck in a car for a couple of hours.

Ok, the plan:

We'll meet at Hesperia at 11:00am. The SoCal Legends are planning to meet us there as well.

We will set off from Hesperia by 11:45am and get to Baker at around 1:15pm (google maps travel time estimation) where we will meet up with the NorCal Legends who are planning a 1:00pm arrival (meet at "The World's Tallest Thermometer". After gasing up (for those who need it), we head off non-stop to LV.

Does this work for everyone?

There are a few places to stop along the way. Just DON"T get gas in Baker!! Gas locally is around $3.55, in Baker it'll be around $3.999 or more.
