I knew you were going to say that.

Quite the contrary, it was a huge hit at the show, and genarated many interest.

One man’s treasure is another man’s trash.

That does look a little different  "VROOM" has one on his car that doesnt stick out as much that I like the look of better. Its posted under the thread "project WideBody 02 Conversion" But its interesting. It is something you use more for track events? Just more curious about the use. Or just everyday driving around? Plus what was going on that you all had so many X's in one place

Very nice addition. How much does it cost and how do you put it on the rear hatch?

It is a modified Mugen Snorkel design. The purpose of the snorkel is to do the following:

To accommadate the Mugen AIS, beucase it is a "con" desing, there is no scoop from the side vent, so cold air pushed in from the snorkel will help the AIS to receive cold air. Also needed for CTSC.

After market header without heat shield. TO prevent high temperature built up in the engine bay. (NSX R Mesh cover required).

Got it from Japan, cost around $1k.

I think if the racers are using this mod to their advantage other folks will try it. It must work or else the racers wouldn't use it. To each its own, this forum allows us all to do our own thing. That's what makes this thing work IMO. MOD ON

I assume this was the SoCal meeting at South Coast Acura June 1st

Any closeup photo and the view from the hatch raise up? Btw are you all using aftermarket rear hatch?

Personally i would have two hatches: one with it for track days and one without for cruising. I would not want to be seen on public road with that thing on unless i was driving around in something that looks alsmost like a jgtc car (widebody, wing, beefy tires and light rims, and those decals). But none of the less, it is a very functional mod, especially for those with ITB's, rams a lot of pressurized air into the bay.

couldn't have said it better myself!

Does the Snorkel also help with the downforce of the car? Or is it just for better breathing? By any chance does the F1 cars have that mounted on their cars also, right?

Well, i really wanted to like it, but I just can't. I think it's awful. The Mugen Hatch is much nicer and does the same thing.

The Snorkel is a Mugen Replica!!!

lol

just wanna point out that they have moved the snorkle from car to car... you can tell.. and that they are all OE glass, so dont expect to see pics of the underside. When someone finally does get a lexan and installs this Id be glad to see it. Looks like they only bought one....

You know what I mean.

Of course, I don't think any of these are really functional unless you have ITB on the NSX.

Charles Brown made a cool intake for his CTSC using the mugen hatch.

PS. Yes, I know that photo is a replica of the actual Mugen Hatch.

BINGO!!!

Some one figured it out. Yeah, I"m waiting for my lexan hatch to arrive, and it will be installed by end of the month.
