Sneak Peak of my latest artwork....

Yeah....he's good....and appreciate you showing that....I definately give props where they are due (and he deserves them by all means)..... but I must say your post kind of makes me feel disrespected a little. Without any comment on what you feel of my work (which is what I was hoping for), you post about another artists work as to how great it is and suggest that "we" can take hints from him (as if something were wrong with all other artists works, including mine)...

maybe I'm taking it the wrong way and I don't mean any disrespect by this, but maybe you could have started with a compliment or constructive criticism of my work (which I am open for) instead of making the underlying tone of your post solely about how great this "other" artist is. I love to see other artists work especially from the artists themselves, but boasting about how great someone is from a third party perspective without mention of the topic at hand comes off as a little offensive to me.. especially since it is not even your work  (I don't know what ties you have with this person or reasoning about why you needed to showcase this nor do I really care).... Not trying to sound harsh, but that's how I feel....but maybe that's just an artists perspective :)

But yeah, that guy is really good....

 you are not yet ready to be an adult. IMO there was nothing offensive to you or about your drawing in his post. You have talent but are still in puberty.

Oops. Sorry. I didn't mean to do that. Your works are great. Much better than what I have done so far (mine always stop half way). My weakness on car drawing is the wheel. Pretty much nothjing close to what you have done. I thought since your thread is about drawing I could put up some links about another great artist as well. I hope no hard feeling. Looking forward to seeing a complete drawing.

Definately no hard feelings... like I said, I may have taken it out of context. But I feel anywhere I am or that I post, I should speak my mind. Some may disagree. I hope you didn't take my responce as offensive either :)

I feel I worded myself fairly professionally. I voiced my opinion. I saw it one way, others may not. I did not attempt to bash as you are doing so to me. Jin1976 replied very professionally and cordially and there are abosultely no hard feeling there (as I hope he/she has no hard feelings toward me). It was a misunderstanding is all. And I feel you calling me juvenial is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black since your responce to me was purely to bash - to me, that is more juvenial than my responce to Jin1976.

Plus, you have Paul Wall (and his bling grill) as your avatar, who's still in puberty here? :D (note: do not take that too seriously, it's just a joke)

YOU DO HAVE TALENT. The etch-a-sketch drawing was pretty good:smile: (had to get you for the paul wall joke:smile: ). My attempt was not,and is not to bash you. I just felt like you got upset that Jin1976 didn't give you a compliment on the drawing you posted and he posted links to others. You did say you were offended. I just posted about how i felt, just like you. i can send some more bling is you like.

Thank you everyone for your compliments. It keeps me motivated to get the drawing done. I will definately keep you guys posted on how it turns out. :)

No hard feeling also here. English is not my primary language. I'll try to improve on that.

very impressive ability. Would love to see the finished piece. To the person that eluded to Chip Foose, its crazy how he can draw cars off the top of his head and then make them come to life. His show overhaulin always impresses me, although I don't get why there are overhaulin new cars.

Thanks....and yes, I agree. Chip Foose has an extreme eye for style when it comes to designs, and his art is top notch...

Me, it takes quite awhile to finish one drawing and I erase (revise) more than I prpbabaly should...

Nice work. If you were free handing the modeling you seem to have the spacials down. Which is really hard to grasp. I havent picked up a pencil in years but I only like to work with 2b woodless pencil, & Bristol or stone henge paper.

I'm have a BA in graphics design.. Illustration was my specailty. Try using woodless pencil "soft ones like 2b" and High quality paper. they will give you much more dynamic presentation.

Just a little bit of technical advice. I see that you are holding back on your pencil. Although the wheels and tire areas have some good strong blacks. I feel that you were a bit afraid to dig into the shading of the body. It looks grey compare to the wheels. Try to practice on shading black cars with 4 distinct shade of grey to black. like 2,4,7,10, 10 being the darkest black you can dig into. then smooth out the shades final presentation. In these exercises.. dont be afraid to dig deep for the dark blacks.

Yeah, I don't realy have any formal training so I'm sure some of my technique is off compared to the textbook definition. I sort of just draw until I feel it looks right, and I think you are correct, I do get a little afraid to go to dark on the shading and most of my cars do look like they are light colored cars (i.e. none of them look like they were black colored cars captured in pencil). Might be something worth trying. Thanks for the advice...

have u finished this yet?

Not yet....I've been real busy at work and away on Business for a good part of December, so I haven't had too much of a chance to work on it (I just do this for fun in my free time). I now have the complete interior and part of the body panels done, so I'd say I'm 65% of the way there...if things at work slow down, I should be able to get it done this month...when I do, I will post it. Thanks.

Well, here is a more recent picture of the NSX drawing....like I said, I have been busy so I have barely worked on it as of late, but it is getting there.....

Wow this is very good. Drawing people especially women is sometimes difficult. I like the way you draw the hair. Did you use one pencil only?
