Its that time again, need a smog ck on the NSX.
(I am not worried about it passing, just looking for safe place to go)
I have used the corner gas station for 20 yrs, but do not trust them with
the little red car. Anyone recommend a good spot close to San Clemente Ca?
Post here, or E-mail me.
Thanks!
Mark

Long time no see Mark. Hope all is well.

I normally just look up pennysaver and they always have test only stations coupons for $12 + cert and transfer fee in Tustin area. Killer deals I think.

They can't really do anything to the car as long as you are there watching them. Just remember to turn off TCS when they do it. Otherwise, the engine will never rev up.

They may have a hard time getting signal from the sensor though. I have seen them put it on my passenger seat, on the back of the engine hatch rear garnish...

... and your clutch will suffer. At my last smog check the tech stalled the car and restarted it, which re-activated the TCS. Before i could intervene he was burning up my clutch trying to overcome the TCS. Careful with the Pennysaver route.

Am doing fine thanks!
(Have been restoring old Husqvarna's of all things)

I have a great guy who does my smog checks, but would like to find a shop familiar with these cars. If all else fails I can go there. But would rather find someone who reminds me about the TCS rather than trying to educate them. I guess I don't want it to be his 1st time sitting in or running a test on an NSX. Ramon might know, but prefer getting 1st hand info here.
