Skype

Tried Skype once,

then realized I didn't have a need or use for it. If i need to talk to someone that bad, I have my Razor - might as well use the thing.. and if i don't, I have AIM.

but alot of people like Skype, sooo... i dunnnoooooo?

I use Skype to three-way conversations with friends in NY and Germany during online gaming, and it is usually clear and troublefree, with no time delay.

been using skype for 1.5+ yrs. i use it ~2 hrs week for international skype-to-skype calls; haven't used skype out yet.

it's great.

Ebay is buying Skype so I am looking in to it for answering questions about items I am buying and selling on Ebay and I think it may come in handy for my Amp and CCU repair customers to contact me. Also I can see using it to talk to other prime members. How well does it work with speakers or should I get head phones?

I've used it, mostly while travelling internationally. IMO, the way to use it is with a bluetooth headset - the kind marketed for cell phones.

If you have your partner on the phone for Eurche who needs luck?

Skype was founded by the people who created Kazaa. I've used it for international conferencing between our asia office and east coast/west coast domestic offices. Of all the free (that's the key word) internet conferencing programs out there on the web, IMO, Skype is the best.

I'm sorry Steve, I don't understand.

Spelling mistake on my part Eurche should have been Euchre. It is a card game played between two sets of people, four total. If you were able to know what your partner has in his hand, winning would almost be a guarantee.
So if you could be on the phone with your partner....

How would that work on my PC, do I need a receiver?

Yep, you need to have a bluetooth enabled PC to have it work. My laptop has it built in, but you can buy USB receivers, etc...

Ah, I understand now. Well, we usually play as a team in Warcraft matches, which gives us an advantage because we can discuss our strategies as we play. However, I imagine that many of the other gamers on there use a similar technology as well.

You can buy a PC headset. It will have two jacks, one for the mic and one for the audio. Any game store will have them.

haha...that reminds me. When I worked at Sony in the IT department I was at this one engineers cubicle and he's all my damn sound card on my notebook hasn't worked for the last 2 years. I ask what does it do and he said it makes this weird noise. So I check his sound settings, hit mute on the microphone and the noise goes away. He felt so dumb.

Skype, internet phone service anyone here using it?
4 billion $$--- yea billion
E-bays biggest mistake ever IMO.
Emailed question/answer for ebay is plenty.
They better have something magical up their sleeve for this one.
Shocked they followed through with this acquisition.
