He is selling 'interesting' parts, and his end prices are in the range of where they should be - however, his selling pratices are sketchy at best, and in some cases downright misleading - he sells an item on ebay with no reserve, then when it doesn't hit his personal "reserve" he looses the item only to find it again and offer it to someone else? His $1 auctions also can catch the buyer who isn't careful, such as the two people bidding on his average to low quality used jdm tail light set - it's at $1.25, with $599 in shipping costs.
He is on this forum, in the marketplace, selling these same items - I am sure his prices are where people are willing to pay, but by selling in the way he has done, rather than just come out and charge the correct price for an item, he looks like a sketchy seller - the concept you outline, to avoid ebay fees, jason, is against the terms of use on ebay, and his 3% paypal handling fee is against the terms of use for paypal - he could be suspended from either or both of these services without warning, how would he react if you pay him $3k for an exhaust system, only to have those funds frozen in paypal? would he provide your exhaust, or a refund out of pocket? Another seller is well and good for the nsx crowd, but trying to be tricky about it, trying to catch someone who doesn't look at shipping costs, loosing items when you took the risk by listing them with no reserve, etc. are bad selling practices to get into.
