I never sold anything on ebay but I am guessing the cost structure is one which it benefits those who purposely stuffs the pricing into the shipping column, and minimizes the actual selling price. The seller pulled all his items (hood, two spoilers, exhaust, engine cover, tail-lights, etc) in the 11th hour and reposted them with much higher "shipping cost".

FWIW, as an ebay powerseller the practice of outrageous shipping costs is a large violation of ebay's seller terms of use, if ncdogdoc is interested he could report this seller to eBay.

here is the ebay page regarding excessive shipping charges, and handling charges given as a 'percentage' (this seller lists a 3% handling charge):

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-shipping.html

Now certainly we can understand he wants to sell his item for a given amount of money, and has no interest in providing us with bargains - at the same time what he did to the above prime member was dishonest, and against ebay's terms of use. What he is doing now is also against ebay's terms of use, and it is downright misleading - while I may double check an auctions terms several people are impulsive with bidding, and if you place a $1 bid on an auction with no reserve on impulse, only to see this guy charging a $2500 shipping charge and a 3% handling fee, obviously you could run into problems. As it stands someone placed a bid on a set of jdm tail lights he is selling, for $1.00 with a $599 shipping charge - $600 for used tail lights with visible scratches, when there is a set here on prime for $400 to your door in good condition - buyer beware

The nsx community is rather tight - I am a bit irked at 'not getting a bargain' on this original item, but aside from this I see his selling practices as being dishonest - I will no longer be bidding on his auctions, and would advise others to do the same - there are plenty of 'legitimate' places from which to purchase nsx parts.

This guy seems kinda sketchy. I mean he does have alot of interesting parts for sale, but he seems to have a lack of knowledge of the parts as well. The ARC exhaust has a fairly good price, but he says its new. I havent gotten mine yet so I cant tell you, but his doesnt look new. He also says the tires on the NA1 wheels are new. You guys tell me if they look new. The Type R steering wheel he says is new. That thing doesnt look new either, and isnt that a Type S wheel? I could go on and on. Also, I dont know whats up with some of his shipping charges on his Ebay auctions.

This selller got some sweet items, good price too.

His selling practice with $1 bid and $500~$3000 on shipping is basicly avoiding the ebay seller fee by keeping the ending price down to minimum, and just charge his asking price for the item on shipping. This is against ebay rule, but I don't have a problem with that. He is just doing what he got to do to survive and cut the cost. He is in Torrance, so basicly risk free for Southern California bidders.

He should just sell on NSXPrime marketplace, its free and probably reach more NSX owners.

He is got Gruppe M, ARC Titanium and the almighty GTROM F1 Titanium, I am sure he probably got his items at used car parts shops in Japan for relatively low price, I got to pick up some of these babies for my NSX and store it in my house in Tokyo.

He is selling 'interesting' parts, and his end prices are in the range of where they should be - however, his selling pratices are sketchy at best, and in some cases downright misleading - he sells an item on ebay with no reserve, then when it doesn't hit his personal "reserve" he looses the item only to find it again and offer it to someone else? His $1 auctions also can catch the buyer who isn't careful, such as the two people bidding on his average to low quality used jdm tail light set - it's at $1.25, with $599 in shipping costs.

He is on this forum, in the marketplace, selling these same items - I am sure his prices are where people are willing to pay, but by selling in the way he has done, rather than just come out and charge the correct price for an item, he looks like a sketchy seller - the concept you outline, to avoid ebay fees, jason, is against the terms of use on ebay, and his 3% paypal handling fee is against the terms of use for paypal - he could be suspended from either or both of these services without warning, how would he react if you pay him $3k for an exhaust system, only to have those funds frozen in paypal? would he provide your exhaust, or a refund out of pocket? Another seller is well and good for the nsx crowd, but trying to be tricky about it, trying to catch someone who doesn't look at shipping costs, loosing items when you took the risk by listing them with no reserve, etc. are bad selling practices to get into.

Nice vid,but they said it was clutchless sequential, this thing on e-bay only changes the shift motion, you still need to clutch.
