The documentary on Ayrton Senna will be showing in Las Vegas on Sept 16th. Anyone else interested in a club outing, dinner and a movie, to see it?

Hey Butch! Sounds great. Hope everyone can make it. I know Danny would like to go as well. I've been a golf nut this summer after not playing for almost 3 years. Catch u later..

OK, confirmed Senna is going to be showing at the Regal Village Square 18 theatre on West Sahara on Sept 16-22. Show times are 1,4,7,9:30PM.

Who is up for going to see the movie as a group that weekdn Sept 16-17-18. I'm thinking Saturday the 17th might be best as I expect it to be pretty crowded the first night and I assume most of us have to work.

How does Saturday for 7 or 9:30 showing work for everyone with dinner nearby at 5 or 7 respectively.

I am good for Sat., the 17th. How about the 4pm matinee ( if we plan on taking our NSXs) followed by dinner? The movie is 1 hr and 45 minutes and is rated PG-13 (so Danny needs an escort!). I am, however open to the 7pm showing and early dinner. Any restaurant suggestions such as the ones @ Red Rock casino?

P.S. I hope we have enough cars to do a "SENNA" formation

Thats actually a better idea, gives us a chance to reflect on the movie over dinner. The Chicago Brewing Co. is a 2 min walk from the theatre and their Chicago Deep dish is pretty good.

All of the above are good ideas. What is the consensus on driving the NSXs? Considering the movie topic, I suppose we should at least try to figure out a safe/secure way to bring the NSXs. Movie theatre parking lots are high-risk for theft though.

Excellent point. I was thinking about the same thing so I went by there yesterday to see the layout. Right across from the Chicago Brewing Co. is a storefront facing the main turnin to the shopping center and the brewhouse front door; its highly visable from either.

Theres another spot about 100ft away but not quite as obvious from the brewery entrance. Both are a couple mins walk from the theatre but I'd be comfortable parking there rather than out in the general parking with the masses in front of the theatre.

If we see a showing earlier in the day I'd also be more relaxed about leaving the cars there. Although they'll probably be safe from any major mischief or theft I don't think theres any way to park 4 or 5 of these cars together that folks are not going to want to stroll by and check them out.

There was a Jaguar XK and a Audi R8 in the brewpub parking lot if that means anything.

Uh,

I can park the Masi there and it can act like a beacon for parking,
I'll just trip my alarm. That won't attract any attention.

Re: Senna Movie Roll Call

We'll miss you Danny but have a great trip and Expo... you can catch it later when it comes out on DVD! Might even be a copy somewhere at NSXPO?

For everyone else, lets start a roll call on attendance for the weekend after next-Saturday September 17, the 4:00 oclock showing at the Regal Village 18 followed by group dinner (we'll either walk to the Chicago Brewery for Pizza and Subs or drive somewhere nearby afterwards depending on how we feel at the time).

Have heard really outstanding reviews for the documentary, as a diehard F1 fan I'm really looking forward to it.

Virgil,
You can't leave schuey out in the sun at 4pm in vegas, you know that.
The senna movie was amazing, you guys will love it. I met the director at the showing here in Santa Monica last month. His insight and knowledge of F1, and Senna, was amazing. There is footage he got from Bernie that has never been seen outside of the original live broadcast. I'm not even afraid to admit I cried twice. An amazing documentary that he said took him four or six years to put together, can't remember.

Do enjoy guys, but please keep Schuey out of the sun as he will burn like my fair Irish skin does, AND I want him back in the same condition when Virgil is ready to sell..........

All

Here's the plan for tomorrow. We'll rally at the Red Rock casino off the 215 at 3:00-3:10. I'll be parked in the far Northeast corner of the front parking lot directly North across from the Yard House sign.

We'll caravan over to the theatre at 3:15, movie starts at 4:15.

Not knowing how crowded it will be I went ahead and went to Fandango for the Regal Village 18 and bought my tickets online.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. Anybody else reading this is also welcome!

Planning on being there as well.

1 Butch w/NSX
2 Tom1 w/ NSX
3 Virgil w/NSX
4 Shane & Ammanda
5 Steve
6 GeNSX w/ NSX

Cheers!

Really great movie, totally drew me in and kept me riveted, although knowing the ending made the final scenes hard to watch because he was a genuinely great person and amazing talent.

Really gave an un paralleled insight into his character and faith. His driving was epic of course, especially in the rain. I glimpsed a Red/Black NSX as the safety car at the Suzuka GP.

Good to see and visit with everyone.

Butch

I'm glad that you folks enjoyed the movie. I had the same experience watching the movie. It was tough the first time, thereafter, it was easier to watch, though you still get emotionally attached.

I tried to arrange a similar meet here in LA, but nobody responded, so I drove solo in my NSX, to watch the movie. You guys keep it real in Nevada!
