Selling my 98 NSX for 02 M3

I too chime in from experience. I'm now on my 3rd NSX. The first 2 were red 93's. I decided I needed to change and went on to the complete other end of the torque spectrum to a Viper GTS, then a gorgeous 993, SL500, Vette Z06, S2000, M Coupe and more before coming back to a yellow 98 NSX. I don't regret the experience of owning the other cars because it was fun. But if you like to keep your cars then I would say you'll be missing the NSX.

You've heard the saying "the challenge isn't getting what you want, its wanting what you've got after you have it". ...

I hate to admit it because it ain't to nice to our pocket books but the only true logical evolution of an NSX owner is to a 355, 360, or 550. ...

I like the way you think

Guys, good effort but I think he's made up his mind.

Charley, good luck in your future endeavors!

Good luck to him, the E46 now has a huge recall on the engine bearing because they are defective from 2001 to 2003 or even 2004. This will explain why so many M3s are blowing up. It's amazing that I can find nice 2001 M3's for $29,000 already and it's only been 3 years. What a price drop.

Um, guys,
I decided to go with another NSX ........ like 8 months ago.
Here are the pics of my second NSX.

I have no regrets about not going with M3. I saw three M3s on the way to work today, and only one NSX (Mine).

I cancelled my 04 M3 order in Feb of this year and picked up an 04 NSX in May this year.
I still prefer to have semi-useful back seats to no back seats.
But I do love my NSX.
BE careful with 2002 M3s due to the engine proble. I think that is the year BMW made the engine correction.

The ride in M3 is much harder than the NSX.

Great decision, that is one sweet looking NSX . It sure look way more impressive than E46 M3.

Huh??? I've owned both a 2001 and a 2002 E46 M3 and did not find the ride any harsher than the NSX. Both of them were riding on 18 inch wheels perhaps you test drove a car with 19 inch wheels?

Ken

Possibly, It was a preowned model. I did not check the wheel size.

Charley,
i was in the same shoes about 3 months ago.
Look what i ended up with - 2nd NSX...:D

i've had 3, 5, 7, even X5, sure BMWs are much better overall comfy cars, BUT no matter which car you end up with, you'll miss your old NSX. I did!! very much!!

No cars (includ. M3s) can give you the RAW sports car feel, un-erasable grin from one ear to the next whenever you drive (my daily driver), 'what kind of car is that'-looks from people, smell (just had cat by-pass put in) and sound of incredible motor right behind your head, and lastly 'WHOAAAAOOOWWW' everytime i hit the 8,000 rpm note.....

trust me dude, been there done that many and many times (my wife hates that)

DON't cross over cause ya'll come right back, i guarOnteeeee!!!

'some people DRIVE their cars, we WEAR our cars'

my 02 cents

Jon
i could not agree more. i think the 3 series BMW's are nice cars. the NSX is something more than that.
