Folks, the Northern California Racing Club (NCRC) is tentatively planning to hold a track event at Infineon (Sears Point) on 1/25/2003.

This is a great opportunity to check the new track before our NSXPO 2003 track event and get some seat time ..... and if it rains in January, it will be even better as my best learning of the THill track occured when it was raining and I had no choice but to "learn" the lines with my oem yoko tires ...... LOLL!

The organizers of NCRC are offering an invite to the NSXCA club members by waiving the $40 membership requiremnt - a precondition to participate in NCRC events - if we can guaratee at least 15 but preferably 20 drivers .......... some of us are already members of NCRC so this is for those who are not but want to track Sears Point. Also, a few of us NSXers instruct for NCRC so you will have a lot of camaraderie as well .......

This also opens the door for more collaborative opportunities between the two organizations so we can get more track event put for you with less worries about making budgets .......

Let us know if there is an interest, ..... and they do offer early bird registration at a discount so keep your eyes and ears open ........

Cheers,

Registration forms are now posted and available at:

So far, I have received 2 solid inquiries. We need at least another 13 so you can all get in without becoming a member of NCRC. And remember this is a great opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the new configuration before NSXPO 2003.

I have attended/instructed 2 events with NCRC, and I can vouch for their concern of running safe track events. Our most recent 2 day track event (last weekend) had a very interesting assortment of cars with their respective trailers and technicians (one guy brought 3 of his Porsches GT3, GT2..... another came with 2 Corvettes and a mechanic, yet another with 2 souped up Vipers a weighing scale ...., 2 panoz ....) there was a lot of $$capital$$ on the track especially the second day, but we all had a safe event and drove our cars back home.

Cheers,

Hrant

NCRC tells me so far not a single NSX has registered .......

Let me know if there is a pr0garm or cost related issue so we brief the organizers ...... after all, we are having NSXPO 2003 at Infineon!!!

Edit 12/18/02: In the spirit of true interclub partnership, NCRC has waived the membership requirement to NSXs irrespective of the original minimum count. And they have a target of no more than 60 cars on the track. Now this is a true bargain ....

Early bird registration ends on January 1; so get in early and save a few bucks. They are also considering getting rain insurance so those sitting on the sidelines and reading the weather Almanac don't have to lose sleep ....

Rain insurance policy has been confirmed. If NCRC cancels because of rain, you get full refund minus the cost of the insurance policy. Cost of the insurance premium is divided amongst the number of attendees, usually runs less than $30.

Bump ..... ok, I am really curious now.

Registration of NSXs even after waiving membership to NCRC and securing rain insurance is still dismal at less than 5, this especially given the bargain rate .....

So all those with hot shoes, posers, big talkers ...... where are you

The organizers are eager to create a collaborative program with the NSXCA which helps us put more track events for you all. So if there is a program related issue let us know so we can address it, especially since we are planning NSXPO 2003 this October at the same track.

Well if you love to track and didn't do Sears Point (Infineon hasn't earned the name rights with most of us yet) with us last Saturday, you missed out. The weather was cool, dry and cloudy with some afternoon sun. Great day for driving. There were a few spins early but everyone was surprised at how few yellows we had all day.

The track is technical, challenging, still intimidating, hard to learn but oh so much fun. And sticking to the basics will keep you safe.

Saturday was my first day there and it just whetted my appetite for more. A second day should start to "pay off" with some decent rhythm. The facilities are first rate and should get rave reviews from NSXPO 2003 trackers.
