SCS indicator

I have an "EPS" indicator illuminated. Reseting the system caused the fault to go away for a while but after several days of driving the fault has returned, evident after every startup. This leads me to believe that the EPS motor is ok (gawd, I hope) and that the fault lies in the control unit or w/ a sensor (not the steering sensor, pleeease) or some other electrical fault.

I would like to pull the fault code. Does anyone out there have a way of cobbling together a SCS Service Connector? If I can make the repair myself I will but at a minimum I'd like to go to a repair facility properly armed w/ knowledge.

The car: a 95, 1 owner, 27,500 miles, well maintained, w/ service manual. 1st occurance of a failure of this type.

Any Help Appreciated

Thanks

You do not need to cobble anything together. You can jump the connector with a gem clip etc, as detailed in the FAQ, or you can just go to your friendly neighborhood Acura dealer and let them put a new steering ECM into your car at no charge, and not worry about it any more. This item has a TSB on it (also available from the FAQ), and has been discussed multiple times on this list. BTW, do not let them pull the '97 and later bit on you, it is good for all years.

Even on the '91-94 five-speeds, which don't have power steering?
