Saturday May 22 NSX gathering

Holy s*** Todd, that crack is massive! It's a good thing you are able to find all these cracks in your wheels before they cause you an accident. I can't believe such a beautifully crafted and designed wheel can cause you so much headache. Hope you can get it fixed in time. Wouldn't be the same without the lone white NSX in the group drive!

P.S. - Wei Shen, any official word on which option we are going with for the 22nd?

Yeah, that crack's big enough to drive a semi through there !!

Sorry to see that Todd. I had a similar incident on one of my 547's...right rear to be exact. Ended up taking out the tire! That's what you get for running around on those cheap wheels. How long have you been down with that crack?

That's insane for HREs. I've had my 545s on Charlotte since 2003 and they have 150,000 miles on them. They've been bent, scuffed and scraped but never cracked.

What size wheel/tire combo is this happening on? You said it's happened 3 times. I'd venture to guess you're running 19" or 20" wheels back there. If that's the case then it will keep on happening because the aspect ratio of the tires you're forced to use give you almost no sidewall to absorb impact forces from the road. 18" is the largest you should go in the rear unless you're running a wide body with 300+ size tires.

I can't imagine this happening with 17" or 18" wheels.

This email was just sent to all NSXCA members in Florida.

Let's work on selecting a lunch location. Some thoughts.

1) Come back to Winter Garden Village and go to Panda Buffet (cheap). There are many other fast food locations within 100 yds of you hate Chinese food
2) Nickers restaurant at the Mission Inn. Great views, nice food, more expensive but reasonable ($8-10 for lunch entrees)
3) Aji Sushi Teppan lunch in Winter Garden Village (8 to a table with your own chef), $14 per person for the typical selection of shrimp, chicken, or beef cooked to order

Votes?

Greetings NSXers!

There will be an informal NSX gathering in Orlando on Saturday May 22nd, 2010. It's time for all of us to get in a drive and social event before the stifling heat of summer hits Central Florida. The tentative schedule is as follows.

830am

Gather at Starbucks,
3310 Daniels Rd
Suite 114
Winter Garden, FL 34787
407-656-5231

Please arrive with a full tank of gas and an empty bladder

9am to 1130am

Country drive into west Orange and Lake County including stop at Citrus Tower and possibly Lakeridge Winery.

12 noon

lunch, location TBA

130pm

leave for wheel to wheel go-karting at

Li'l 500 Go Kart Track
150 Atlantic Dr
Maitland, FL 32751
(407) 831-2045

This is a slick oval where bumping and spinouts are commonplace and teamwork is necessary to win the session!

Since this is an informal gathering, no RSVP is necessary. Each person will pay their own admission for the Citrus Tower of $4 (website www.citrustower.com), pay for their laps at Li'l 500 (website lil500.com) and cover the cost of their own lunch at the location selected.

You may participate in as much or as little of this event as you wish. The location for lunch will be selected by the majority of NSXers who respond to this email and send suggestions to [email protected]. The final lunch location and expected cost will be posted to www.nsxprime.com on Monday May 17th.

Club radios will be available for communication and an event waiver will need to signed prior to departure from the Starbucks parking lot.

If there are any questions about the event, please contact me

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1299606#post1299606

I know the orlando area has a healthy group that meets up regularly. Just a thought  have a great day all...x

Id be interested in the consensus on this as well  I have a good friend (s2k owner) that im certain would thoroughly enjoy that driving route and would like to invite.... Maybe its time to plan a central, fl nsx + s2k meet...x

*side note - post 81.... year i was born =' ) lol

I don't know the Winter Garden area that well so I'll just vote for option 2 or 3 on the food choice. They both sound pretty good!

We would certainly welcome an S2K owner to join up. We're all Honda fans!

At this late time, it's probably not a good idea to try to incorporate all the local S2k owners since there are 100 times as many as NSX owners (having owned both and participated in both group events!).

This is certainly something to think about for the future, however given the statistics, it's probably easier for NSXs to join an S2k event that is already planned.

As for lunch, so far few replies. What do people want to eat?

East Florida/Orlando Participants, shall we come together to caravan the ride to Winter Garden?

I live where the 417 meets the 408 in east orlando and the ride to Winter Garden is about 20-30m. PM / Email me and we can coordinate, of course my driveway is always open to nsx's

"Vote" for Lunch) 1 sounds great because of the "many options" part then the "cheap" part  lol

You can count me in, Wei Shen!

Anyone from the Tampa Bay area want to caravan up? I can go early Saturday morning (have a late night function on Friday.) I start in Sarasota - Fruitville and 75 area.

Ole

Food for thought

Wei Shen

I'm good for Japanese - seems appropriate. If not, I'm sure there's a Hooters parking lot that would fit all our cars!

Ole

FLABUF Im Tampa, I will let you know on friday if I am going, pretty sure I am. . will post that friday night if I am going. but would love to caravan there. what tiem would you leave sarasota and how long does it take you to get to tampa/ I-4 to orlando? I haul Ass so if your a slow driver I am sure I will catch up to you before we get to Orlando.

Ps how much to join the NSXCA florida chapter? cash, credit card, money order, gold bars, I-O-U note? LOL

Ok folks, let's do Macaroni Grill for lunch. Noon sharp.
3143 Daniels Road
Winter Garden, FL 34787
407-654-0351

This restaurant located in Winter Garden Village on the east side of Daniels Rd. just north of the 535/429 interchange.

Japanese would require a set headcount (we can't do that)

There's parking right next to the restaurant and our cars will get lots of looks!

You can see the menu at www.macaronigrill.com.

If you have an Epass or Sunpass, please bring it.

No extra charge for FL. NSXCA, if you're already a NSXCA Member. Wei Shen is kinda fond of gold bars though...

Luckily, I got over my crack problem in time for the drive too. and I may no longer have the lowest NSX at the meets. It's actually being RAISED  with coilovers by Nabil today. (It's a sad day in Slamville :frown: )

This event is being sponsored by the NSX Club of America, Florida Chapter. Although there is no entry fee to participate, it would be nice if NSX owners would support the club by joining on-line at www.nsxca.org. The fee is $40 per year.

Gold bars are not accepted. However, Krugerrands and quarter rands are welcomed!

Wish I could make this event, seems like they always coincide with things I am already doing/have planned, have two other events that day.

Have fun!

Thanks for the offer, I'd like to come but seeing as you guys are only going to be there for 15 minutes might not make sense as it's not very close to my house.

I always wanted to do one of the drives...guess next time.

Hey Alex,

Finally getting a chance to respond to your meet point bro! I'm down for the meet spot. I'll see you there at 7:45ish. Looking forward to it. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is these damn love bugs, which I know will be pasted to the front of my car like a mural before I get to the group drive! They are really bad down my way. Guess it's "painter's tape" time again!

BOOOOOOO!!!
