Had a chance this week to educate myself on suspension theory and the latest in damper technology.
After comparing DFV dyno plots with double digressive pistons available on the ASTs, I now understand why the owner of PSi was thinking the ASTs could work for my use (I want a soft ride on the street basically). The super digressive characteristics for compression and rebound should make the AST DDP very soft for the street but firm up nicely if I want them for more spirited driving.
He was going to talk with AST this week about my application. I don't know if AST has any experience picking out the digressive knee locations for the NSX. That's where a good tuner comes in for your shocks and your application (Erik Messley for example). I hate to be the guinea pig, but I'm 100% sure that whatever I get from PSi will be a night-day difference in ride quality for the better than what I have now.
