Hello everyone,

I guess this is my first question...how does this forum feel about the RS-R exhaust for the 91-94NSX? I just picked up a 92 NSX, and really like the exhaust. I called RS-R, and they said that they got some coming in 2 months! I think im gonna pick one up. Here are the pics that they sent me. I was told that his was going to MSRP $1229. And its all stainless!

I've had the RSR exhaust on my 91' for about 6 years and am happy with it. For me, it's the right blend of quiet during cruising, but good growl at WOT. It is indeed all SST and my only regret is that it can't be seen. It's a beautiful exhaust.

From what I remember, this exhaust is about 5-10 lbs. lighter than OEM, which means you aren't really saving any weight if that's a concern.

Dali Racing has some coming in, according to his site.

Yes, I also remember that it was sold for $750-$800. Why such a dramatic price increase? Has there been some kind of improvements to the exhaust?

i got one on my NSX and loving it.

not loud at all but you can still hear it.

I have the RSR on my car. When I bought the car in May of '03, the RSR was on it.

I like the look of the quad round tips. I wish they were slightly larger, but not much. Quad 3.0" tips would be the limit in size for my tastes.

The sound is very restrained at low RPMs, not at all like the low growl of a taitec or comptech, which I happen to like. I run a tri-flow SS exhaust on my 325i, which I equate to be similar to the louder NSX exhausts. I wish my RSR made more noise at lower RPMs.

At higher revs, the cars emits a beautiful wail. It seems to be louder than the comptech (haven't heard enough taitec at WOT), and I have gotten many compliments on its sound at higher RPMs, a real screamer.

I may eventually get rid of the RSR for something else, probably in conjunction with a comptech or taitec header/exhaust combo, but I am afraid I will lose the high rpm wail if I do.

I've got the RSR and like it allot. Probably as much as Steve liked it :D

At any rate I do too wish for a *little* more on the low end in terms of noise. I have a Cantrel-style intake which means that when I get on the gas I can't hear the exhaust at all. Just in the intake.

There are a few caviats:
Sometimes the tips do not center w/o a little bending
There is a slight resonance (small when compared to other exhausts) at ~2800 to ~2900. About 65 in a 5spd with stock gearing. You can easily fix this but going 70 ;)

Ohter than that I think it is a great exhaust and think the look is second to only the Tubi for quad tip exhausts.

Sounds pretty lame

That sounds like my stock exhaust then. If the exhaust weighs 5-10 lbs less. Save yourself $1400 and don't buy one.

matt - thats a pretty bold statement. have you heard the RS-R exhaust in person? i would suggest not bashing someones product before you have heard it in person. if you have and you still dont like it, more power to you.

To qualify my quote, I have a Cantrel Style Intake tube which screams at high RPM's and since it is right next to the driver's side window that is all I can hear. On the other hand people outside the car can hear the exhaust just fine:D

YMMV
