Ride the Rockies 2006

I 'll have my car by then. DOn't think I'll be doing the whole run or staying over night but I'll probably meet up with everyone to say hello :-) Doing a few miles then head back towards home. Busy busy time for me since I'll be transitioning out of the air force

Will and I intend to have as many NSXs and their owners join us on this ride as possible, but also would like S2000 to join us as hotel availability permits. We don't want this to fill up with S2000 owners before NSX owners have the chance to sign up. To this end we want to give NSX owners priority in signing up, but get that done as quickly as possible so we're not waiting until the hotel is full before inviting S2000 owners.

I am in, and reserved a room, thanks for setting this up this year.

I plan on joining you all, it sounds like fun. I'm in a conference all weekend, so I won't be able to call the hotel until Monday morning. I hope this is OK.

It looks like the number of miles being driven means that we won't be spending all day just driving. Is there an agenda for the weekend? I'm trying to convince the girlfrield to come along, and showing her that it isn't just 2 days in a car will definately help out with that

Looking forward to the trip,

Steve

I have a unique dilemma!!!! I am going to go on the RTR for sure. My wife and I will be there. However, last week our house was burglarized and they took checks, credit card statements etc. They were apparently getting ready to take the NSX too!!! Anyway, we have closed all credit card and checking accounts in business and personal. Our new cards will arrive Monday or Tuesday so we will be able to then make reservations!! If anyone is interested in 2004 complete key, fob, and lockset from an NSX, I will have one available for cheap. I don't have one key and one fob unfortunately. The a-holes that did this have that, but they wouldn't be able to find which NSX it would work on.

Anyway, just letting you know that we WILL be there, to give you an idea of numbers of NSXs. Thanks.

On the last RTR a bit of slack time was eaten up by gas stops, picture-taking at sight-seeing/tourist pulloffs, slow traffic in RMNP, chatting and picture taking at both of the previous, a relaxed lunch & dinner, go-carting after dinner, and wine tasting at the hotel (all the first day). The second day was relitavely short (when considering the time people arrived back to Denver/Springs), but I think people liked that as all the driving/eating/socializing can wear you out.

IMO we waste less time than some other car clubs with the various stops (I've been on drives where they stopped like every 10-15 mintues...which isn't my preference).

(info about route and how we're accomidating this suggestion removed)

That'll work fine Steve, I'm going to post the available remaining hotel rooms as available for any S2000 club members tomorrow evening.

Glad we were able to get a few more NSX's signed up, look forward to seeing you there Steve and Chris.

Will

Hello all, just a quick update, we still have 5 rooms available for any NSX'ers or S2000's if anyone still wants to join us for the drive.

Craig and I are discussing what kind of social event to plan for Saturday evening. On RTR 2001 we had a wine and cheese tasting "social hour" later Saturday night after dinner, it was a pretty good time. Craig and I would like to do something similar, but thought we'd solicit the group for suggestions. Some possible thoughts:

Food:
Wine, cheese, crackers, snack food, soda, other alcohol
ice cream (buy ice cream & toppings at local supermarket...serve ourselves)

Activity:
NSX / S2000 / Honda Trivia.
Game(s) (poker, uno, scrabble, chess, scategories, etc)
Watch movie

Other thoughts?

I'm bumping this thread to remind people to reserve their rooms. The hotel stops holding them for us without reservations in two days (June 8). Info on reserving a room is in the first post of this thread.

Some suggested activities might include:

1. Installing supercharger on my car for me so that I can keep up with you all!!

2. We could all detail Steve's car again!!

3. Denver was horribly jealous of my car at the show because of the incredible cassette player that comes standard on the NSX. We could all pitch in to help him buy a cassette deck!! He really likes the antenna on the NSX as well. Any donors??

Seriously, I vote for ice cream!!! What's not to like about that?? Latzke's car is so clean we could eat off of it! Games sound fun too. Denver's a school of mines grad. He's on my team for trivial pursuit! Looking forward to it. Take care.

Hey Doc, how about this activity:

Modify a brush guard from a Ford expedition to fit your nsx. That way you'll have your very own custom coyote bumper for the drive! lol

Hey, keep your plastic spoons away from my paint!

Now THAT is funny (despite being cruel).

I'm a little scared having Doc C and LrdVader both on this drive. They seem to be a dangerous combination (I'm thinking specifically of drive to NSXPO, a coyote, and egg shells in LrdVader's driveway).

Well this way, he'd be able to keep his car nice and prestine but still provide those tasty coyote jerky snacks through out the entire trip.

LoL, might wanna carry chains. Afterall, this IS colorado. I figure a bit more crazy weather than New Mexico.

So...... I was at PP's Acura last week and they mentioned they just finished "Will Erickson's" NSX. So is it true? I haven't read you post anything about your newest mod..............

11 days ago (@ car show) Will was still unsure if the supercharger would arrive this decade. This post and yours makes me think the wait is over.

Yeah, it looks like the wait is over, I'm taking the car down next week for the install. They're giving me a loaner car in the meantime, I'm hoping its a TSX so I can make Craig jealous, even though it will likely be an auto.

Will

OK so I was right, someone got their cars/owners mixed up, well mentally. Well There was a BLACK/BLACK nsx sitting in the service entrance bay for like over a week now. It had a CTSC installed. Brian(?) at parts said that "Will Erickson's" nsx from denver had it's CTSC installed completed and was waiting pickup. That was last weekend. Then yesterday when I went in to order some small parts and have paul help hunt down where the heck the fuse for my cig lighter was. Well in the service entrance bay, one of the guys pointed out that same black car, but awaiting delievery to it's owner and that yours was coming in this upcoming week? I knew you had a red nsx, but figured maybe you owned two..... Anyhow, just had to get it all straigtened out in my mind. But expect a 91 sleeper in denver soon. Looks 100% stock inside and out with the expection of the chromed newer years multispoke oem rims.

Or it could be an MDX, I swore I've seen a few of those loaners roaming around. Either way, all you need is a big @rse bottle of NOS, and you can make back some of that money you're about to drop into your car while it gets installed, lol.

If I'm not mistaken Dave (COS91BB) of Colorado Springs had the 1991 black/black with upgraded wheels (and a bra) at the supercar drive in August. Could be his car...or someone else we don't know.

It was still there today when I dropped my car off, Paul said he was delivering it to its owner in Denver tomorrow (Saturday). Don't recall him mentioning a name of who it belongs to. I did end up with a TSX, they offered me a TL or TSX, I prefer the smaller size of the TSX, though the TL would be somewhat quicker. Its a nice car, lots of nice features/amenities that I'm not used to. My car should be complete by Thursday, will try to get it on the dyno Thursday or Friday.
