The weekly update:
The NSX specialist had a great experience in Ohio. The track time is the best of the offerings. They got time on multiple areas of the track, launch control, extreme braking, autocross. The instructor had extremely high job experience in training drivers.
The tours are given by all in enthusiasts, some of which were ex Honda employees or family members of employees.
You do not interact with the folks on the factory floor. They may provide an opportunity to include the car builders for the lunch you get.
The engine plant tour starts with the super high volume stuff and then you go into the 3 bay room for the NSX engines. There is some shared equipment amongst the 3 engine builders (ex. to tongue all bolts at once). There are support staff to bring parts, do some sub-assembly and to run the dyno. The dyne is set up to mimic the drive train drag the engine will operate under.
Future tours (late spring) will allow customers to see their car be built. There may be some light ceremony stuff so you can put a badge on. Idea from the NSX specialist.
The hotel is small but slick and is in an Artsy area.
He hadn't seen Playbook # 5 and couldn't comment on the number shields or tire totes.
They know about folks not being happy about having to pay for the tours and track time. Counterpoint, BMW tour is free with Euro delivery but track time is at your expense.
I told him about the seat wear and CF roof issue from the ProCar guy in Germany. They know about the seat wear. The NSX side bolsters are softer that others in the market. The CF issue was news to him.
I asked why some folks didn't receive an invite for the tours. Their opt in opt out to offers when we registered interest in the car may be controlling what emails they can send us.

Thanks (as always) for the info. I might do the tour/track on a "life is short" rationale, but as a counterpoint to your counterpoint: a 9-lap package on the Nurburgring is about $250. That's about 2 hours of solid *actual* track time (much longer if you break it up)-- about the max that anyone would really want. No coaches, but opportunity to drive the 'Ring in your own car is pretty fun, and easily covered by the below-MSRP pricing applicable to Euro deliveries. Just pointing out for the record.

This is true, but in Ohio you get to beat on Honda's car instead of yours! Renting a car at the Ring a few years ago wasn't cheap. It was no NSX either.
If you get yourself to North Carolina, you can do a track day driving BMW's M-cars for free also (at least with M5 purchase, not sure about other M cars).
But, whatever. It is what it is. I'd rather that Honda offer this program for extra cost than not at all, so I'm not too upset (and I might pay to go! It sounds fun!).
