Can anyone (NSXBRLA?) please detail how to remove the factory pillar covers. I will soon be having the roof of my Sebring NSX painted to match. Another fellow NSX buddy had this done, but his bodyshop didn't how to remove the pillars, so they removed everything else, but painted the pillars in place, there is slight overspray on the rubber gasket trim around the pillars. It looks fine to most eyes, but I want it done right!

Thanks

I suggest that you have a look in the manual, which shows clearly how it is hold in place.
It requires taking most of the interior panels off....
You will be suprised by the weight of these things.

Brief instructions would be:

1. remove rear rectangle interior trim behind seats
2. pull back weather strip
3. remove corner interior trim behind seats
4. unscrew b-pillar trim, and pull out
5. remove factory b-pillar cover (10mm). Lower bolt is on a long shaft to prevent you from dropping it, so you will need a long socket.
6. Place Loctite red on aftermarket b-pillar cover studs and place on b-pillar.
7. It is important to not overtorque the nut on the stud. Fasten bolt to b-pillar. Once it begins to bind, bolt down about 90 degrees.
8. Replace pieces.

Cheers,
