thats what i was thinking, there a rather well built car, most hondas in general can handel a fare few KM.

My options r this one or an auto with less KM. personally i would like the manual, i was jst worried about the KM.

Ill ahve to get the mechanical side checked out n let u know how it gots.
thanks for the info

Hey Cartoon, welcome to NSX Prime. Please tell me that's you in your avatar. :D

At 200,000km the engine should be fine. There's even a guy with 500,000km's on his NSX and claims it runs like new. You just need to check the standard problems the NSX runs into with age: how old the clutch is, window regulators, paint condition, etc.. and all the usuals with used cars like maintenance/accident history and if it's been on tracked.

Also if you feel comfortable with it, post the rego and maybe somebody on here will know the history. :p

Hey Cartoon are you on any other forums ??
I know a few of the boyz at TGZ..

Anyways take it to Hannys Performance in Smithfield and have them check it out and ask their opinion on high K's NSX and the particular your looking at. AT to MT conversion prob not worth the money so if u want Manual just be patient and buy a manual.

Welcome Cartoon,

Is English not your native language?

I am confused, you seem to be using "chat-room" abreviations in your posts which make your posts to us "older" crowd unreadable and therefore it is frowned upon in this forum. However I noticed that with a lot of your "abreviations" you have managed to use MORE characters in your abreviated word than you would have used if you had have used the correct spelling, hence my question...

Now, your question.... I know that car. I have seen it. The car has been driven hard (Or should I say the owner has enjoyed the car) which is not a problem for the NSX. The interior on the other hand is badly worn. So you would be up for a set of seatcovers at least.

I would be asking to see its service history. High mileage is not a problem with Honda's but without regular maintenance it is!!

I also know the only authorised Honda repairers in Qld. So you would do well to get the owner to authorise the release of the vehicles service history to you if you are willing to put a deposit down.

These motors cost over $30,000 to re-build or $45,000 to replace....

Good luck! And I think Neo will agree that, that NSX belongs in Sydney... It's RED

For all you "older" guys, ppl = people, n = and, sup = "hello, what's happening?" . :p

:D You know I always agree with you Mikey, except when it comes to stock '91-93 rims. I'm sorry man, but I can't agree with you on that... they are just too ugly. :D :D :D

Cartoon : ah yeah, i know Sung Li Hee... i dont know many models but i know her. All Korean models are goddesses. ;)

Now now Neo, You know your therapest has advised you to not talk about the things you don't like about the NSX.... It is too traumatic for you

But I'm here to RUB IT IN..... You know that the original rims are:

LIGHTER.... STRONGER..... and therefore.... FASTER

This is a difficult thing to grasp in the city of BLING!

So, I have a compromise for you NEO.... This may fuse all your neuronet circuitry when you see this... I can see it now... Neo in a complete mess... This does not compute.... This does not compute.... I am not supossed to like OEM 91-93 Wheels.... But these have BLING....

He is asking market value for the car... So what you actually pay will depend largely on how desperate he is to sell and your negotiating skills. Other factors which come into play are if the car needs any work done to it... Which you will know once you have the car checked out.

In all honestly, the first thing you should be asking for are the service log books. If they are in order, then you talk to the shop that services the NSX. You need to make sure that it has had at least it's 2nd timing belt (These cars do bend valves if it breaks) That is a $3,000 service to replace the Timing belt BTW. I would expect it should have had it's clutch replaced at least once... etc. Look, if you get the service records for the car I can help you go through them. If the service records are all OK and if you are still interested then I can put you in touch with someone who can do a full inspection for you up there.

You need to look into some other things as well.... Now I don't know how old you are, so these are just some other things to think about if they apply...

Do you need to finance the vehicle or are you paying cash? If you are financing the car it has to be fully insured.

So can you get insurance.... How much will that cost?

You are looking at only 2 things ATM... NSX and $50,000!

But even if the car checks out mechanically you may need to put another $10,000 in servicing and on-road costs if it has not done its 200,000K service changing the timing belt, waterpump, spark plugs etc...

If the car service history cannot be traced... I wouldn't touch it. So, I feel there is much you need to do before "sending someone to check it out for you"...

But if you are dead-set on this car..... Then of course I can have someone check it out for you... I will be up there again on the 23rd April.

hey cartoon

Yes you can.. BUT.... You need to have the OWNER tell Gold Coast Honda to release the information to you. They aren't allowed to release the information otherwise....

Excellent! Looks like your well on your way... Talk to Gold Coast Honda to send you the service history! Just to make sure what needs to be done and give you more info to haggle with!

Hey mate!... The beast will be comming down as soon as you tell me when the next Philip Island Track Day is!... Then we can do the Great Ocean Road after! In the mean time I am looking at upgrading the gauges and putting in a reverse camera (Can't see a thing out the back with the intercoolers there!)

RE CF Centre Consoles: I am waiting on the word from Mark now, seems the POMS actually beat us at something finally... The first 6 CF Centre Consoles got shipped to UK. Mark is giving me an email when the next batch are ready. Expect 2 weeks...

Cheers Mate!

Not to bad for full comp insurance

Ok so i have spoken to NSXAU (thank you so much for the info it was very helpfull)

Still waiting on all the service history paper work.

Now i know the visual problems with the car n just wondering how should i talk him down. im not the best with my negotiating skills unfortuantly.

According to the report that NSXAU gave me i should have a lot of negotiating room on this car.

thank for all the help ppl its very much appricated

cartoon- man thats cheap for insurance!
Good luck with everything.

hahaha.... AU_NSX I know you're a smart man holding onto those '91 rims. Everyone knows that fashion comes in cycles... give it another couple of years, and those '91 rims will be BACK as the in-bling-thing. :D

> LIGHTER.... STRONGER..... and therefore.... FASTER

Is that why owners use 91's for track tires? I thought it was because nobody cared if they trashed the rims.

Service history is being sent down ATM
it was service at honda for all major work and service at some ferrari place for all other work.

AU_NSX could u please e-mail your details, it would be appricated if u could go through the service history with me.

thanks
