I'm looking for recommendations...
I've got a 2000 Odyssey that is finally falling ill with the transmission failure that plagued a number of Hondas and Acuras of that era. I typically do my own service and am capable of doing clutches, timing belts, suspension, most anything. It sounds as though this may be a job best left to the professionals however as two shops have told me I'll need a lift.
So, for a guy who does his own service for a reason, who do I trust? I've spoken with Ed Napleton Honda who will be looking for about $3500 for the job and won't be able to get a remanufactured transmission until Summer. I also called Just Hondas down on Lemay Ferry Road because I remember hearing their ads on the radio a few years back. He's asking $2800 and will have my transmission rebuilt locally and will install a new torque converter and flush the trans cooler.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
Dave
