Re: White 02-05

Re: White 02-05

thanks for chiming in! I never lived in Taiwan before so I was not aware of those things...

So when you say "exotic Euro" are we talking Lambo/F-car or like BMW/Mercedes? My buddy in HK has a car porter that takes care of his EVO, Skyline R34 and the 997 Turbo but never heard of clubs being snobby. But I guess in any culture you got snobby groups just like here in the US

Yeah, I first saw them in the Shilin/Tian-mu area. This is the area that gathers the most foreigners because Taipei American school and Japanese school are located in this area. I like going there because a very nice and expensive grocery store there sells stuff like peperoni and brie(sure, they have McDonald over there, but eventually you just start to crave for some weird stuff.). I saw this club without knowing who they are, after we finished watching some hockey games at my co-worker's place. There are quiet a few F-cars, BMWs, Mercedes, and a Vintage V8(I was quiet wasted, but I don't think it's a DBS/DB9). This club was on a magazine a while later, and my buddy told me that's the one we saw on that hockey night.

Guess who bought it? Its the same gentleman that bought my rare 2002 Imola Orange Pearl/Onyx and he's a smart man. He bought mine without any negotiation so I presume the ex-owner in Hawaii got that same deal as well. He sent me an e-mail update showing me pics of the Imola and mentioned he'd just bought this White NSX.

He knows which NSX's are rare and buying them up. I know he already owns a NA1 Type R, Mugen Civic RR, my ex-Imola and now this White/Tan...

Wow, thanks for sharing. I wondered about why a HK guy would buy a LHD NSX, and I guess the answer is he loves Honda. He probably didn't negotiate because he doesn't care. He's going to spend a lot of money just on shipping, processing, and custom.

That's interesting. So is he just planning to leave it in his garage? Or, I guess he has a test plate that he can use to drive it on the street in HKG?

Another interesting tidbit is that a few of the 2005 cars have been exported. Taiwan, Korea, Finland, Dubai, and Jamaica are all home to a 2005 US-Spec NSX.

The one that was exported to Korea is one of the extremely rare Black/Red cars.

Re: White 02-05

Wow imagine being on vacation in Jamaica and seeing an 05 nsx toodle bye:eek: I would have thought 91 with 02 conversion:tongue:

Re: White 02-05

so, Ben or anyone.
of the 250 2005 nsx's
how many have been totalled?
how many have been in minor accidends but still on the street?
How many have been exported?

trying to ultimatly determine how many unwrecked ones exist?

sounds like someone with carfax needs to go through the list of 250 05's nsx's and determine now 5 years later how the current status of the final 250.

Re: White 02-05

Yeah but hasn't Carfax done away with the unlimited VIN checks? I thought I had read that somewhere.

Ben - the HK owner is driving the Imola so I presume he'll be driving the White one too. Here's the link...and an excerpt from a mail to me:

Cameron,

Glad you like photos, I am showing them to everyone, also posted on HK NSX club.

Pix taken in surburb HK by amature photographer.

GT wing keeps butt tight during turns on track, attack angle adjustable, min dialed for street.

You know I did it because looks great! This Carbon fiber bolt-on is sexy.

Only Imola Pearl in HK, cruising main street Saturday night turn heads like nothing else.

People do not understand this color, they think orange Porsche GT3. What a mistake!

Spoon Japan wants way too much money for R upgrade. Almost US$60,000 plus shipping and 4 months.

Catalyic converter removed, exhaust sound Italian now.

Amazed all the time this 20 year old design still look fresh today.

I intend to mod the incoming S2000. Show them as a pair at local meet.

You have a good day!!

Nevaeh Auto Trading is the new owner...perhaps someone in HK can look him up.

I've got the carfaxes for all the 2005s as of 12/2009. I haven't gone through all of them yet, but for the exported ones are the ones I mentioned above. I didn't count Canada is being exported, but a few are there also. A few have been wrecked and totalled, and a fair number have had accidents but still on the road. Will post again when I get a chance to go through them.

kind of interesting...i looked through this link yesterday and today get an email for a bookmarked thing on flickr. here's some more pictures of your (jetpilot) old one.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/davis_c/page2/

bottom of the page. there's also pictures of a silver RHD NA2 and a blue RHD NA2. I would guess this is all in HK.

if you go to his album (davis.C) and click on any of the nsx pictures, and on the right side click on 'nsx' keywords, it brings you to 51 pictures of yours (orange), the blue, and silver nsx's...

Yup. I did it once in 2006, and I did it again in Dec. All by hand. That was the easy part. The hard part will be going through them all to compile the data.

Looks like this car has made it's way to Taiwan. I'm currently having my friends over there check to see if we can get any more info on the car or owner.

http://used.carnews.com/index.php?Mod=cars2&op=online&job=membercar&ID=409318&FlagSess=ClearSearch&Hits=Add

The page says that it's a 2005, and the production date is 1/2005, which would be consistent with 2005 #072, as that was the only GPW produced that month. Mileage is also consistent with #072's last known mileage. As far as I know, it's the only white NA2 in Taiwan, and one of 4 or 5 total NA2s there.

Asking price, only US$149K

Re: White 02-05

Over time I've searched on Prime to find references to a registry of Grand Prix White NSX's, particularly the 02-05's. It seems that this thread and Ben's post here seemed to have the most complete and up to date information. It's been over a year since a post but if Ben's willing maybe he'll update it to show me as the current owner of 2005 #150, original owner Hothonda.
It would be neat if there's any more information available to update the status of the other 24.

Actually, "as of 4/2009" means that it was still in your hands as of 4/2009. Note that it says that dc935 owned it until 4/2008, which is accurate according to the date of sale.

oops my bad need to go back to English101

My friend did have a 02 white with red seats... Not sure who he sold it to or chopped it. I cant find the guy anymore so be on the lookout for the distinct red seats. The car was originally in philadelphia. If I can find the guy I would like to know what he did with it.

Cool little factoid:

Total of 24 White NSXs between 2002-2005. (http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78515)

If you want a 6spd + BLACK Interior:
2002: GPW/Onyx Manual: 3
2003: GPW/Onyx Manual: 0
2004: GPW/Onyx Manual: 1 (mine)
2005: GPW/Onyx Manual: 4

I believe the vehicle you are referring to was RyanITV's previous car. 2005, #170. It was fully converted to an NSX-R theme and sold to Sung in California, who promptly removed the NSX-R wheels, supercharger, and many of the other high priced items. Last i heard, the car wasn't in the best shape. That car has a black top though...

How "bad" of a shape is my car in???
I could tell you that when I got it from Ryan, the car did have MANY, MANY flaws.
I did remove the NSX-R wheels cause Ryan painted the original CW to GPW with very poor quality. The paint was so thick that we almost couldn't verify the NSX-R part number.
I got rid of the S/C cause I simply didn't like it, mainly the response.
LED taillights didn't match so I eventually replaced them with stock.
I don't know what other high priced items were on the NSX except the Procar hood which is still on the car.
But maybe some NorCal people who have seen the car can say why my NSX isn't in the best shape...

Ben, can we shorten the description of #170, looks like a bad car fax report :P
I had it on the market 2008/2009 but I obviously never sold it:biggrin:
Oh, and it is refinished to Championship White.

Ben, could these numbers be wrong? Seems another 2004 GPW / Onyx owner I know on FB owners group is saying he also has a 2004 GPW / Onyx?

Side-note, seems the 2004 white/white car is now on eBay: (seller is in Florida, EBAY ID: jeskibuff) shows as he is 3rd owner:

Description:

This car has got timeless appeal! It turns heads and NSX's are rare to see on the road. If you want fun AND reliability, the NSX is the whole package! Plus, I think the styling is much cleaner than the new NSX. It's in excellent condition but not perfect. There's a carpet stain behind the driver's seat caused by a soda can that was punctured and the wheels have a little curb rash. There's a little wear on the driver's seat side bolster. Many of the pictures posted show the car swarming with blind mosquitoes - they're not included and should not be considered paint flaws. I bought the car in 2005 with 1500 miles on it so am not the first owner. I do not smoke nor do I think the first owner ever did. I never had an accident with it and there's no indication that the first owner did either. Unlike most all other cars on the road, NSX's seem to be increasing in value. I see some on eBay selling for $136K. Not bad for a car that listed at around $90K! I have more pictures posted at this site and I will try to add more during the week (without all the mosquitoes included).
On Jul-23-18 at 06:01:00 PDT, seller added the following information:
The eBay "AutoCheck" feature shows a "minor title problem" occurring when I first registered the vehicle in Virginia. Supposedly, they were suspicious of the odometer reading of 1,512 miles and flagged it as "EXCEEDING

On Jul-23-18 at 06:02:54 PDT, seller added the following information:
RENEWAL EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS". Evidently, the goons at the DMV thought the vehicle had already gotten more than 100,000 miles on it at only 8 months old.

Interesting.

JH4NA21694S000038 has apparently been in Florida since 2005. Mismatched tire sets (two and two), some unusual driver's outside seat bolster wear for mileage shown (27,516), carpet stains, and some curb rash on wheels certainly no deal-breakers.....appears stock but no pics yet of engine bay and front compartment. No mentions of any maintenance. Six days left in fleabay auction - gonna grab some snax and bevvies and watch this one bid up
