Hi guys, I am starting to hear rattling sound from the engine bay. I hear this only when i am decelerating and/or the engine rev is going down. I only hear this when the rear of my car is next to a wall or similar to reflect the sound.

My setup is comptech header and taitec GT comptetition exhaust(not lightweight). From the FAQ it seems like there should be no rubbing issue with comptech header but maybe that's not the case. Can someone comment? I'll take a look underneath to see if I see any loose bolt later this evening.

Well, I found no loose bolts or any rubbing issue. I am now thinking it's coming from the top of the engine....kind of like a lashing sound. hmmm Only makes the sound at around 4000rpm when the engine rev is coming down. Engine runs smoothly otherwise.

Hi Ak,

Two places to check:

1. Front beam bracket by #6 downpipe on the front header.

2. Just under the front cat as it goes over the lower "A" brace.

These are common rattles if there is a close fit.

I did not see any evidence of rubbing around the exhaust routes. I'm starting to think maybe it's the bearing on one of the pullies going bad?

Check your Acura engine cover plate between the heads.I have a pollished aftermarket one and one of the brackets holding it in place had brocken causing a vibration on top the engine.

I had the same problem with a stock engine cover plate. Must be all the track miles :)
