rare 01 coupe

So why is it missing the support bar across the back of the engine compartment?

I'd guess that with the '97 and up stiffness enhancements it doesn't need one, but it's the first NSX I've seen without one.

According to Lud, the reinforcement bar was discontinued on coupes beginning in '98.

BTW, there is already a topic about the car in question, here.

'98 and later coupes do not have a strut bar, or even the mounting points for the strut bar. Honda decided they were stiff enough without it.

It does appear to have perf. leather, but their camera only picks it up in one shot (and even then just barely):

NSX-T's definitely don't have black tops from the factory.

Early 92-94 NSX coupes all have black tops from the factory.

97+ NSX coupes can have color matching tops or black tops depending on how the dealers special ordered them.
