Impressive performance by the Gallardo.

The GT-R driver was commenting on how he believed the Gallardo's lower weight compared to the GT-R was the difference.

Interestingly, the first comment by the NSX driver was about how he thought that his front tires were too cold.

I've not seen an episode where there was such a differential between the lead cars and the rest.

Best Motoring videos are always fun to watch but of course are not the most scientific of tests... Too many variables at stake.

Yeah, all we need is GanSan driving the nsx-R, he will either win the race or ran other cars to the wall. :)

I believed the only thing that's not scientific is their driver!! They have good timing devices on them. All the drivers have very good skills, only some are more aggessive than others...

EXACTLY my point. Different drivers are the biggest variables. Cars of varying age/mileage/state of repair/OEM or non OE tires/etc all have their effects.

Again the BestMotoring competitions are more for pure entertainment. Its a mini-race. Run it 10 times and you will get a variety of different outcomes.

Now suppose you took one driver who took each car around the track on the same day under the same track conditons for 10 laps each and took the average time per lap for each car. Presumably each car would be in factory new condition with OE tires and OE brake compounds... and on and on. Of course that wouldn't be very entertaining to watch now would it? And let us not go into p-values and stats...

wow those are some fast lap times for the lambo and the GTR, the fastest the NSX-R has ever been was like a 1:04 at Tsukuba with the Drift King driving

The the lightweight Gallardo Superleggera is awesome. Really like the lightweight apporach instead of just bumping up the power to 600hp and add more weight.

Depends on whos driving:biggrin:

Its sad to see the nsx behind a 911:cool: ..So whats honda going to do now?

Wow, BM really hates Porsche...

What are you talking about? Over the past few decades, they have had nothing but praise for the various 911s. Even Gansan, who said in the past he hates turbo 4WD cars (like the Evo and Impreza due to too many electronic gadgets) admitted he liked the 911 turbo. They also love the Cayman S and the Boxter.

1/4 mile test

Thanks again Jason! Is it on sale right now? I might have to pick it up at Mitsuwa or something! hehe
Brian,
It is Best Motoring 2008 March. You can order one at Kinokuniya, which I usually do for the DVDs that I like. The US version will be available SuperAutobac months from now. For the time being if you don't mind I can give you a underground version in a week or so.

"Depends on whos driving"
Yes i agree...after picking my Gallardo up yesterday in Portland and driving the 600 + miles to Sacramento through snow, ice, slush, etc..the E Gear is not something one picks up easily to shift, I am still learning and in no way able to do anything in competetion....a lot of people in a G will not put that many miles on...but I like to drive..

I thought GTR was a 11.6 second car and here it did 12.1.

I think the Lambo is faster beyond the quarter. Slow times for the NS-R it should have broken high twelves. Drivers could have done better.

i have watched those 2 videos already before nsxsupra posted.

this is what we have seen. the track version Gallardo is really awesome. 11.8 sec for 400M test. the power with light weight and handling in corner. GT3 doesn't even have a chance to fight that gallardo. not porsche turbo either. i have seen the M5 board posted GT3 vs basic gallardo, and GT3 is little bit faster than it. i think gt3 RS will still get beaten by that gallardo. we can imagine that how fast F430 suderia is.

LOL>i wanna really say. PLZ use a 500 HP nsx to eat that gallardo and GTR. LOL

no longer available?
That is the problem with youtube. You can't really upload unauthorized materials, they get deleted quickly. I used have over 100+ videos on my youtube channel, not worth it, I deleted most of ones not taken by me manually.

Buy and support the original!!

GT3 is a very good car, but not beautiful as nsx.

has best motoring used Enzo in their video? i never saw one. also, F430 has not shown on any track racing.
